AS KIDS ARRIVE PRIOR TO THE LESSON:
Welcome Teacher/Trainers, Trainers and students.
As the children arrive give them the Bookmarks, scissors, crayons
and glue. (Get them to practice sharing the Gospel)
1. OPENING GAME: (10 minutes)
Whisper game:
Children sit in a circle the Trainer starts the game by telling
the first child a statement: ‘Heaven is a free gift, it’s
not worked for or deserved’ The first child whispers in the
ear of the child next to them. They pass on the whisper all around
the circle. The last child repeats the whisper to the Trainer who
started the game. (Sometimes it ends up different to how it started,
that is how rumors spread) This can be repeated using different
statements from the Gospel Presentation. The Trainer at the end
explains to the children how easy it is to misinterpret what other
people say and they must listen very careful. The last two round
are the two questions.
• “Do you know for sure that you are
going to be with God in Heaven some day?”
• “If God asked you, “Why should I let you into
my Heaven?” What would you say?”
2. TEAM GAMES: (10 minutes) 20 questions
Split the group into two teams select the first leader in each team.
Hide an object in a box. Each team tries to identify a person or
object in 20 questions or less. Eg A book– Is it an animal?
(No) Is it a plant? (No) Is it an object? (Yes)
Do you wear it? (No) Do you drive in it? (No) Do
you live in it? (No) Do you read it? (Yes) Is
it a book? (YES)
3. ACTIVE PRAISE CHORUS: (10 minutes):

Optional: In Him we live move and exist (See Music
video and lyrics)
4. INTIMATE WORSHIP: (5 minutes)
Open the eyes of my heart I want to see you (See Music song sheet
and video)
Prayer: Open the eyes of our hearts
Lord we want to see You high and lifted up shinin' in the light
of Your glory pour out Your power and love as we pray holy, holy,
holy, Lord God almighty, heaven and earth are filled with your glory.
Open our hearts now to this teaching, in Jesus name we pray. Amen
5. TEACHING:
a) “Back Track”
• Did you go on a “Fishing Trip” this week? Who
wants to come and share?
Optional: Play the Fishers of Men video
• How did you share your testimony this week?
(One child in invited to come and demonstrate the use of the ‘One
Door Dollar Bill’ introduction)
(One child in invited to come and share their testimony using the
‘Blank Piece of Paper’)
(One child in invited to come and share their testimony using the
‘Lak-A-Word Book’)
• ‘Two Hearts’ come and share
the before and after that best describes their change of life following
their Salvation.
(PS Make sure if any child does the Back Track incorrectly, don’t
criticize the child, just have a Trainer do it correctly)
• We want your testimonies to be Short, Salty
and Sticky!!
Remember because people are short of time, we want them to be thirsty
to hear more about Jesus and we want them to remember what God has
done in my life and what He can do in their life as well.
b) Sword Play (Wave the Power
Sword Give out the Sword Play Tracks one for each child)
Ready…Swords up… Colossians 4:6… CHARGE!
After three days they found him (Jesus) in the temple courts,
sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions.
(Luke 2:46)
c) Teaching the Lesson (15 minutes)
Before you ever share the Gospel Plan with someone
we must ask permission. Then so we can be effective we want to know
their Spiritual condition. It’s good to know their opinion
about whether they will be in Heaven some day. Also we need to know
what they are trusting in to get to Heaven.
Now we are going to learn two very important questions
that are going to help us to understand their Spiritual condition.
In fact, these are the two most important questions anyone can ever
answer.
Let’s suppose you were to go to a doctor because
you do not feel well. The doctor may ask you several questions such
as – ‘do you have a sore throat where does it hurt?’
The doctor may also ask for some tests like taking your temperature,
look at your throat or listening to your heart and lungs. These
examinations would help the doctor to find out what is wrong with
you. It would help him to make a diagnosis about your condition.
Optional: The JC Service Station
skit (Print off from the Visual Aid Manual)
(The Teacher/Trainer asks the class) “Do
you know for sure that you are going to be with God in Heaven some
day?” (The class may answer … Yes/No/Maybe)
(The Teacher/Trainer asks the class) “If
God asked you, ‘Why should I let you into my Heaven?’
What would you say?” (The class may answers …Jesus/Good
works/Not sure)
(Teacher/Trainer discusses with the children
the three possible answers)
‘Mystery Clue’ Witnessing tool:
Here are some more tools to help you share the Gospel. Bait to catch
more fish!
• Bookmarks
• ???? Question Heart Necklace for the girls (Use Visual Aid
provided in manual or downloaded)
• Multi colored beaded ‘Salvation Key-Ring’ for
the boys (Use Visual Aid demo to assist assembly)
The ???? Heart Necklace for girls:
Two pieces of paper are folded in half at the top. A heart is traced
on the front with the hinge at the top so the children attach a
string to go around their neck. The children should write on the
outside of the heart…
‘May I ask you two questions??
They open the heart up to reveal the next question.
‘Do you know for sure that you are going to be with God in
Heaven some day?’
They open heart again to real the last question “If God asked
you, ‘Why should I let you into my Heaven?’ What would
you say?”
‘Salvation Key-Ring’ Multi
colored beaded key ring for the boys:
Material: Multi-colored yarn or wool, 5 different colored beads,
yellow (Heaven,) white (God,) red (Jesus,) blue (Faith,) green (Growth)
a little circular key ring. Cut a few pieces of yarn into 6”
strips, fold in half and thread through the beads ensuring that
the yellow is at the top and the green at the bottom. Slip in the
key ring, use super glue or varnish to secure to beads, or tie a
knot at the top and bottom.
Plan a “Fishing Trips” –
‘On-the-Journey Training’ (OJT)
Our Follow Me Evangelism series is almost over and we want to take
our team out to share their Faith using the Witnessing Tools: The
5 Diamond drama, 5 Fingers, Dollar Bill, Piece of Paper, the heart
necklace and the multi-coloured bead key-ring etc. Into schools,
other churches, other communities or villages.
Optional: Several of Jesus' disciples
were gathered beside the Sea of Galilee. The group included Simon
Peter, Thomas, Nathaniel, and James and John, the sons of Zebedee.
Suddenly, Peter said, "I'm going fishing." "We'll
come too," the others said.
So they got in the boat and they fished all night, but caught nothing.
As the sun came up, Jesus was standing on the beach,
but the disciples couldn't make out who it was. Jesus called out
to them, "Have you caught any fish?"
"Not a thing," the disciples called back. "Throw
your nets on the right-hand side of the boat and you'll catch some!"
Did they do it? Yes they did! Did they catch any fish? They caught
so many fish that they couldn't even pull the net into the boat!
Then the disciple that Jesus loved said to Peter,
"It's the Lord!" When Peter heard that, he jumped
into the water and headed for shore. The others stayed with the
boat and dragged the loaded net to the shore. When they got there,
they found Jesus cooking breakfast -- fish over a charcoal fire
and some bread.
"Bring some of the fish you've just caught,"
Jesus said. Peter dragged the net to the shore and there were 153
large fish. "Now, come and have some breakfast," Jesus
said. Then Jesus served them fish and bread.
Oh my! It just doesn't get any better than that.
Breakfast on the beach with the risen Lord! What would have happened
if the disciples had refused to throw their nets on the right-hand
side of the boat? They would have missed out on a wonderful breakfast
on the beach with Jesus. What happens when you and I refuse to do
the things Jesus has called us to do? We miss out on the wonderful
blessings that he wants for us!
