1. GAMES: (10 minutes)
Alike and Different

Play a game where children find other children who have something in common with them-same color shoes, same height, same age etc. Have kids report the things they have in common. Now have everyone find a partner who’s different in some way — a boy and a girl might pair up, or one child may like a special food will join with one who hates it!. Have kids report the differences. Then have children find something in common with their current partners, create a peaceful situation.

2. TEAM GAMES: (10 minutes)
Find Your Partner

To prepare for this game, you need to write famous Bible characters that have a partner on each paper. Such as Adam and Eve, Mary and Joseph, Samson and Delilah . When the kids are ready, stick one paper on their backs and let them find their partners. They are not allowed to ask other kids what is written on their back. They can only ask questions to other kids that are answerable by yes or no. While they are asking questions, they should find their partner before the time runs out. The pair that finds their partner in the fastest time wins.

5. TEACHING:
a. Review:
(5 minutes)

Remember last week we learnt that God spent 14 years just preparing his chosen leader, Joseph.

Preparation takes time and let us be patient and not lose heart during the most difficult stages of our preparation.

Remember in your struggle when you are down to nothing God is up to something. Every event in your life has been ordained by God and will contribute to your "palace experience."

Your life may be taking some strange twists and turns but the One who holds your tomorrows is in control.

(Ask the children to come up and share some of the twists and turns that have happened in their life following the CORVID 19)

b. Learn a Bible Verse (5minutes)
“Àlàáfíà ni mo fi síl`e fún yín pé, àlàáfíà mi ni mo fi fún yin, kì í se bí ayé ti fi fún ni. E má si je´ kí okàn yín dàrú, e má sì je´ kí ó wárìrì."

Dramatization of Bible Verse:

Jesus (dressed in white wrap and blue sash, wearing His crown) stands with outstretched hands holding a gift. Two children demonstrate peace of mind and heart. One touches her head, smiling. The other child draws a large heart on his/her chest. They reach out and receive the gift Jesus is offering.

Contrasting another child (dressed in black wrap) is backing Jesus and holds the Visual aid of the world. He hands out gifts to the other children, one acts troubled, pacing up and down holding his head and wringing his hands. One child acts afraid, hiding and shaking. One is angry etc, they receive the gifts from the world.

c. Teach the Lesson (15 minutes)

Introduction:
I must confess that when I was a child, I was afraid of the dark. At the end of the day, when it was time to turn out the lights and go to bed, I wanted to know that I was not alone in the darkness.

That is where my Teddy Bear came to the rescue. Somehow, the darkness was not so frightening with "Teddy" in the bed with me.

Have you ever been afraid? (Give the children a chance to share)

Of course you have. We are all afraid at times. It is nothing to be ashamed of -- even adults are sometimes afraid. Some of us may be afraid of the dark. Some may be afraid of the thunder and lightening that comes with a storm. Here are just a few of the things that people are afraid of: bugs, bees, snakes, heights, dentists, doctors, dogs, cats, mice, and germs.

When Jesus told his disciples that he was going to return to his Father, they were afraid. What would happen to them? Would the enemies recognize them as his followers and try to harm them?

Jesus knew that his disciples were afraid and he offered these words to comfort them. "I am leaving you with a gift — peace of mind and heart. Don't be troubled or afraid"

Remember what I have told you: 'I am going away, but I will come back to you again. I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me.'"

These words were a great comfort to his disciples and they are a great comfort to us today. When Jesus returned to his Father heaven, he asked the Father to send the Holy Spirit to comfort his disciples until the day when he returned.

That includes you and me!

What a wonderful gift Jesus has given us -- peace of mind and heart. We no longer have anything to fear. Whenever we find ourselves in the dark or in the storms of life, Jesus is with us.

On the night Jesus was born, the angels said, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men." Where can we find this peace that the angels were talking about? Can we really find "peace on earth?"

If we want to know peace, we can only know that peace when we know Jesus, the Prince of Peace. If we don't know Jesus, we can have no peace.

Heal a Hurting Heart Curriculum

Just a couple of years ago nearly a quarter of a million households in Nigeria were at risk after heavy rains caused flooding that inundated 80 per cent of the country.

The rainfall began in July and continued into September, causing Nigeria’s two main rivers – the Niger and the Benue – to burst their banks. The resulting disaster is affecting 34 of the country’s 36 states and has caused 141 deaths and 265 injuries to date.
