Heal a Hurting Heart Ministry Partners
Following Hurricane Maria in 2017 the children of Dominica had a great
need and United Caribbean Trust. is pleased to be partnering
with Lifeline Ministries Dominica to introduce Heal a Hurting Heart
into Dominica post Maria and extending this programme into the Bahamas following Hurricane Dorian in 2019.
The Bible Society of the Eastern Caribbean has an excellent Post
Traumatic Stress Disorder program called Healing Hearts designed
for the children of Africa. They are credited for saying ‘Wherever
adults suffer, children suffer doubly.’
Jenny Tryhane, founder of UCT working with Tina Alexander founder
of Lifeline Ministries Dominica has been guided by this excellent
Bible Society curriculum that equips churches and concerned adults
to help children recover after traumatic events like war or abuse.
However the children of the Caribbean affected by hurricanes and
earthquakes cannot relate to rebel soldiers shouting family members
and having to run into the bush to survive. So we have attempted
to follow the same story line but create our own Caribbean Curriculum.
Our facilitator’s guide includes the Caribbean Story Book,
'And Puppy', along with activities, games, memory verses
and excellent Bible Teachings compliments of Sermon4Kids to be used
for ministry purposes only.
This curriculum follows the same Tabernacle Principal of Ministry taught by Kids in Ministry International and we have already trained hundreds of Sunday School teachers and school teachers in this programme in the Caribbean and Africa.
Lastly we are grateful to
Bible For Children who exists to make Jesus Christ known to children by distributing illustrated Bible stories through: the Web, Cell Phone/PDAs, printed color tracts and coloring books, in many languages. This has been a valued tool in putting together these multi cultural and multi lingual curriculum.
