Guide’s Comments
An evangelist who has spoken in many countries and has ministered
to thousands of people said, “The world is full of individuals
desperate to know God.”1
People all over the world
want to know God. They may have no use for the church. They may
not have respect for Christians, but they want to know God. Not
only do people want to know God, but God wants people to know
Him.
We have studied enough to
know that our finite minds cannot comprehend everything about
our infinite God. But Moses, who wrote the first five books of
the Bible, tells us in Deuteronomy 29:29 that God has already
revealed what we need to know about Himself and about our life
on earth and in eternity.

One of the questions children
often ask is, “Who made God?” Children realize that
everything they see had a beginning—somebody made it. So
they ask, “Who made God?” It is difficult to grasp
the idea of God having no origin.
How would you answer if someone
asked you, “Who made God?”. . . . . (Pause briefly
for their answers. Then give the following answer)
God never needed to be made.
He was always here.
God exists in a different
way from the way we do. God is eternal. He never had a beginning
and He will never die. He is self-existent, which means His continued
existence does not depend on any outside source or condition.
He is totally independent of anyone or anything. All things exist
because of Him. He is the source of all life and all matter. Read
John 5:26 . .
Read Revelation 4:11
. . . . . Notice the last line of that verse . . . .
. (by God’s will they were given existence and life)
2. Ubwino wina wa Mulungu ndi wapaderadera
palibe wina angakhale nawo koma Iye yekha. Komanso ulipo

Mulungu ndi Oyera
|
Even the best of us will never
become like God, but we are to be models of the godly qualities
God has given us. He wants Christians to be examples of Himself.
God Is Holy
The next question is about a very important attribute of God that
we mentioned very briefly in our second lesson. That attribute
is holiness.
3 a. Kodi ndi lamulo liti limene Mulungu
watipatsa pa 1 Petro 1:16?
(God is holy. He wants us to be
holy.)
b. Chingakoke mtima wanu ndi chiyani kuti
muyesetse kuti ubwino umenewu uwonekere pa moyo wanu? Ahebri
12:14.
(We want our lives to draw people to God by the holiness
they see in us.)
|
Think about practical things
we can do to allow the attributes of God to be seen in us, so
others will see His holiness. As we each suggest things, list
them on the blank page at the end of the lesson. The title of
the list can be Ways to Grow in Christian Living.
You may start the discussion
by saying, “I am going to write—Be more faithful in
reading the Bible to learn how God wants us to live.” Encourage
each person to suggest something that would help them in their
Christian life.
God is perfectly holy, righteous,
and pure. We are all sinners and fall short of the perfection
of God. No one has ever come up to God’s standard of purity,
for He is perfect and spotless.
The only way we can please
God is by living lives that are clean and obedient to His will.
When we receive Christ into our lives and invite Him to live His
life in and through us, He is our holiness.
4. Fotokozani mwachidule m’mene mumaganizira kapena
m’mene mumawomera mukamaganizira Mulungu. Yankhani
mwatchutchu komanso moona za m’mene mumadziwira Mulunguyo.
|
Encourage each person
to share
How did you answer that similar
question in Lesson 2, Question 1?. . . . .
Knowledge of God is not only
gained by studying the Bible. The Holy Spirit gives us understanding
as we live through the varied experiences of our lives. Only those
who have God’s Spirit living in them possess this knowledge.
Doing God’s
Will
You may say, I have received
Jesus into my life as my Savior and Lord, but how can I know what
God wants me to do? How can I tell if a thing is something I want
to do, or if it is God telling me to do it? . . . . . (Discuss)
God tells us in His Word what
He wants us to do. We can check our behavior and activities by
the verses listed in Question 5.
5. Werengani ndime zotsatirazi ndipo ndi
mawu ochepa lembani chimene Mulungu akufuna kuti inu muchite.
Yohane 13:34-35 ……
(Love one another at all times
and people will know you are a disciple of Jesus.)
Yohane 14:15 ……(If
we love God, we will obey Him.)
Aroma 12:1…..(Offer
yourself to God. Dedicate yourself to Him and desire to
please Him.)
Aroma 12:2 ….. (Don’t
copy the behavior and custom of this world. Instead, let
God show you His way for you to live.)
1 Atesolonika 4:3 ….
(Live a holy and pure life.)
1 Atesolonika 5:16-18 ….
(Be joyful. Keep praying. Be
thankful.)

One of the things that pleases
God and enriches our lives is to study His Word. We have had an
opportunity to practice doing that in this Bible study.
6.Poganizira zimene mwaphunzira, nenani zinthu zitatu
kapena zinayi zimene mukufuna mutapanga kuti mumkondweretse
Mulungu.

Have everyone give their
answers to this question. Suggest that they list the good ideas
other people give on the blank page at the end of this lesson.
Glory to God
The more we learn about God
from His Word, the more aware we are of His purity, holiness,
righteousness, and wisdom. The closer we come to the light, the
more clearly we can see our sinfulness.
The more aware we are of the
utter lack of anything good in us apart from God, the more Jesus
Christ can be seen in us!
But, because of our pride,
we do not see ourselves as helpless, powerless, and utterly dependent
on God.
The greatest blessing we can
receive is to know that we are nothing and that we have nothing
that will make us acceptable to God. We are helpless, destitute,
and completely dependent on God. He offers us His sufficiency
when we have no suf-ficiency of our own.
Kodi Mulungu angatipatse Moyo wake? Moyowu tingawulandire
pokhapokha titakhala ndi mtima wodzichepetsa. Pamenepo mtima wa
phindu ndi wodzipereka umenewu ungadzetse ulemelero pamaso pa
Mulungu.
Ngati akhristu tikuyenera kudzifunsa kuti:
Kodi moyo wanga umawonetsera choonadi cha Mulungu?
Kodi Moyo wanga umawonetsera chikondi cha Mulungu?
Kodi moyo wanga umawonetsera chipiliro cha Mulungu?
Kodi ndimakhululuka ngati Mulungu amakhululukira?
Zinthu zoyenera pa kuyenda mu ulemelero wa Mulungu ndi kudzipereka
komanso kumusangalatsa Mulunguyo. Tsiku liri lonse monga akhristu,

Pamene moyo wathu watsiku ndi tsiku ukufotokoza
kuti Mulungu ali ngati chiyani, Mulunguyo amagwitilitsa ntchito
pofikira ena ndi kubweretsa ulemelero kwa Iye.
What a wonderful way to think
of our Christian lives!
7a. Kodi ndi chifukwa chiyani Mulungu analenga
Munthu? Yesaya 43:7 …. (for
His glory)
b. Kodi tingadzetse bwanji ulemelero kwa Mulungu?
Yohane 15:8 ….. (by
bearing much fruit, which means that our attitudes and actions
show that we live in union with God and show His presence
in our lives.)
|
That is the purpose of our
lives—to bring glory to God. In 1 Peter 4:11
we are told of another way we can bring glory to God. . . . .
Whatever we do to serve God, we cannot do in our own strength.
Instead, we invite God to do it through us in His way. This brings
glory to God. Did you know we can glorify God by enjoying fellowship
with Him?
Read Psalm 16:11.
. . . .
Don’t wait until you
get to heaven to enjoy being in God’s presence and having
fellowship with Him. That is a bit of heaven you can enjoy right
here on earth.
We bring glory to God when
we obey Him.
We have read several verses
that tell us how we can bring glory to God. What are some of the
things that we can do this week which will glorify God? . . .
. .

We have learned much about
the perfect character and personality of the Holy God we worship.
He not only created us, but has provided the way for us to have
an intimate relationship with Him. We can choose to live our lives
under His control and at the end of this life spend eternity with
Him. What a wonderful God He is!
How are we going to put into
practice all we have learned about God in this study? Read Colossians
3:1-10. Follow in your New Testaments or Chichewa Bible
Verse Handbook as these verses are read. . . . .

To conclude our study, let's
praise God together by reading aloud together the verses below
from Masalimo 150.....
Haleluya!
Lemekezani Mulungu m’malo ake oyera;
Mulemekezeni mthambo la mphamvu yake.
Mlemekezeni chifukwa cha ntchito zake zolimba;
Mlemekezeni monga mwa ukulu wake wa unyinji!
