Proverbs 1: 7
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge,
But fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Proverbs 9:10
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,

Not just the beginning of knowing things but of wisdom, which is properly applying the Word of God to our lives.

In secular seminars, even the things that are true, even Biblical things, the underlying motivation of how those principles are applied are absent of the Fear of the Lord, resulting in selfishness, greed, materialism, pride etc.

Are you doing as an individual what God has called you to do, do you have the Fear of the Lord?

Proverbs 16: 7
When a man’s ways please the Lord,
He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.

When you made Jesus the Lord of your life, you gave up all rights to your life. He will tell you how you will respond.

A healthy level of the fear of the Lord means that you do what He tells you to do and you do it. You don’t just want a Christian councilor but one that has the fear of the Lord. When we put the Lord first and are fearful of the judgment things will begin to improve, why? Because the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.

Proverbs 16: 6
In mercy and truth atonement is provided for iniquity;
And by the fear of the Lord one departs from evil.

When you have the fear of the Lord in your heart you stay away from sin.
Things like sexual sins, and internet pornography. The fear of the Lord will set you free from bondage.

Proverbs 22:3
A prudent man foresees evil and hides himself,
But the simple pass on and are punished.

Figure out where you are being caught in sin, eg when I am alone on a computer.
Remove yourself from the temptation.
Stop making excuses or stay bound. The fear of the Lord is the awareness of reality.
Sin destroys your life and takes you all the way to hell!

Proverbs 15: 16
Better is a little with the fear of the Lord,
Than great treasure with trouble.

Proverbs 14:27
The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life,
To turn one away from the snares of death.

Proverbs 19:23
The fear of the Lord leads to life,
And he who has it will abide in satisfaction;
He will not be visited with evil.

Who wants evil to visit your house?
If your heart is in the wrong place you will never be fulfilled or satisfied. It’s into please your flesh, which will never be satisfied. But by the fear of the Lord you can please the Lord.

Proverbs 23: 17 – 18
Do not let your heart envy sinners, But be zealous for the fear of the Lord all the day;
18 For surely there is a thereafter, And your hope will not be cut off.

Be excited that you have the fear of the Lord though you can’t do what all the sinners do, you can’t go for the quick fix. Don’t try to get what God has for you in the wrong way and at the wrong time.
Sin wants the short cut. Don’t envy sinners, in the end you will find out you were right.

Proverbs 24:21 - 22
My son, fear the Lord and the king;
Do not associate with those given to change;
For their calamity will rise suddenly,
And who knows the ruin those two can bring?

God does not change. Those that change, chop and change but don’t stick to it. Be disciplined and see things through to the end. They will fail and bring you down.

Proverbs 21:30
There is no wisdom or understanding
Or counsel against the Lord.

Nothing can oppose God’s wisdom. What the Word says is wisdom.
There is no understanding against the Lord. What the Bible says was sin thousands of years ago is still sin today. Any counsel that justifies sin that is not counsel that is foolishness because there is NO counsel against the Lord. People try to take a concept of God and manipulate it to justify their doing what God’s word says not to do. Because God loves you He told you not to do it.
Do not separate God from His Word, he does not have a new improved wisdom for you above His Word.

The fear of the Lord will bring the heart that seeks the Lord and allows His strength and His Grace not only to forgive your sins but walk in obedience like you never have before.
If you commit a sin you are not kicked out of the family, it affects your fellowship with God but not your relationship with God.

By choice you got in by choice you can get out.

The fear of the Lord brings you to God for forgiveness. It’s not how we feel if you confess your sins He is faithful and just, there is no wisdom, do not follow your feelings, that is why we walk by faith by what God’s Word says. Take the truth of God’s Word and apply it to your life.

Begin to walk as the person God declared you to be. You chose to believe God’s word and not your feelings

By humbling yourself and doing it God’s way you will be blessed and those around you will be blessed.
