God intended marriage to be a good thing. The world can contaminate a marriage:

Individuals should become better because they are married.

Proverbs 18: 22
22 He who finds a wife finds a good thing,
And obtains favor from the LORD.

Proverbs 12:4
4 An excellent wife is the crown of her husband,
But she who causes shame is like rottenness in his bones.

Men in a good marriage walk out like a king, with a crown on their head

Trouble at home can start to eat at you, and when you are outside in ministry, work etc you starts to not be able to focus. Something is eating away.

Proverbs 25:24
24 It is better to dwell in a corner of a housetop,
Than in a house shared with a contentious woman.

Go live on the roof than with a woman that is argumentative, critical, negative,

Contention is how you respond to little things . Most people say money or lack of it is the biggest problem. But it does not have to be it can pull couples together and they struggle together. It’s our response to the problem, not the problem, that’s the problem

Proverbs 24:3 - 4
3 Through wisdom a house is built, And by understanding it is established;
4 By knowledge the rooms are filled; With all precious and pleasant riches.

A house is built, your family is built. A good marriage is not just tolerating one another it’s working together, enjoy being together, anything worth anything in life is worth working for. Relationship building materials are obtained through the wisdom of God, building materials for building a marriage

1. Love

Not feel love but love the action

2. Respect

3. Listening first, speaking last

4. Encouragement

5. Focusing on the strengths and not the weaknesses

6. Embracing - Its more than physical its psychological, and spiritual

7 Forgiveness - Don’t go past the deadline of apologizing before bedtime.

Proverbs 5: 15 -17
15 Drink water from your own cistern, And running water from your own well.
16 Should your fountains be dispersed abroad, Streams of water in the streets?
17 Let them be only your own, And not for strangers with you.

It doesn’t matter if you get caught or not, you are killing your marriage.

Proverbs 5: 18
18 Let your fountain be blessed,
And rejoice with the wife of your youth.

The fun is in the sharing if your marriages is not fun … it may be because we chose to make other things fun.
We have taken our creativity and pointed it somewhere else.

Proverbs 5: 19
19 As a loving deer and a graceful doe, Let her breasts satisfy you at all times;
And always be enraptured with her love.

Focus all of your attention on your wife.

Proverbs 24: 3
