Review from last week read Proverbs 31: 10 -15
Proverbs 31: 16 a
16 She considers a field and buys it;
This is a woman that has crossed social boundaries. In the context
of when this book was written men were the sole providers.
But this verse shoots a women out, not as a liberal, not a feminist
but as a woman of God.
Society has perverted many things about the role of women.
There is a Biblical Godly strength, that does not have the spirit
of the world, in a Godly women. She does not discuss this with her
husband, not because she is rebellious, there is a trust in her
relationship and her husband trusts her judgment
She considers, she is not impulsive, she evaluates. She knows something
about the grace in her life. She can provide for her family.
Proverbs 31: 16 b
From her profits she plants a vineyard.
Proverbs 31: 24
24 She makes linen garments and sells them,
And supplies sashes for the merchants
Pray for women entrepreneurs to rise up, God will give you ideas
, connections to support your family
Proverbs 31: 17
17 She girds herself with strength,
And strengthens her arms.
She is not isolated, we can call one another and share, two are
better than one. A woman of strength has a connection with the Lord.
She knows when to pray with others. But she can strengthen herself,
preaching to herself.
Proverbs 31: 18
18 She perceives that her merchandise is good,
And her lamp does not go out by night.
She discerns, her spirit is awake at night, the spirit does not
sleep, the spirit is connected to God, the mind has shut down and
God can communicate with your spirit. It does not mean that she
does not go to sleep
Proverbs 31: 19
19 She stretches out her hands to the distaff,
And her hand holds the spindle.
She is busy working
Proverbs 31: 20
20 She extends her hand to the poor,
Yes, she reaches out her hands to the needy. There is a grace on
her to help the needy. She is not just about her and her own. There
are needy people all around.
Proverbs 31: 21a
21 She is not afraid of snow for her household,
She is not afraid of the natural circumstances around her, it doesn’t
matter if it snows, rains, thunders, earthquakes… She has
a connection with the Lord. There is a conference in her heart,
her household is prepared. She understands ‘God is my refuge
and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.’
Fear will always come knocking at your door but you will be strong
in the Lord. Speak the Word to it.
Proverbs 31: 21b
For all her household is clothed with scarlet.
Proverbs 31: 22a
22 She makes tapestry for herself;
Proverbs 7: 16
16 I have spread my bed with tapestry,
Colored coverings of Egyptian linen. Unlike the adulterous woman
this virtuous woman is preparing her bed and it’s not for
sleeping!!!
A women of strength considers her sexual life with her husband
and prepares for it. It’s important for her because it’s
important for him
Proverbs 31: 22b
Her clothing is fine linen and purple.
Proverbs 31: 23
23 Her husband is known in the gates,
When he sits among the elders of the land.
A woman of strength will add value to her husband, enabling him
to be a man of influence.
Proverbs 31: 25
25 Strength and honor are her clothing;
She shall rejoice in time to come.
Proverbs 31: 26a
26 She opens her mouth with wisdom,
That means we can open our mouth without wisdom. A wise woman needs
to know when to open her mouth. If you opened your mouth and put
your foot in it say you are sorry.
Proverbs 31: 26b
And on her tongue is the law of kindness.
Kindness in the pressure times, not just on vacation times.
Proverbs 31: 27a
27 She watches over the ways of her household,
The eyes of her spirit are always on the lookout over her family.
Women of Virtue are Spiritual watchmen of the home. Women sense
things, pay attention to that radar. Husbands need to be aware of
this grace on their wives.
Proverbs 31: 27b
And does not eat the bread of idleness.
Don’t miss out on God opportunities because you are distracted
with things that were worthless
Proverbs 31: 28-30
28 Her children rise up and call her blessed;
Her husband also, and he praises her:
29 “Many daughters have done well,
But you excel them all.”
30 Charm is deceitful
And beauty is passing,
We can spend so much time on trying to maintain our youthful beauty
but in 20 years!!!

Proverbs 31: 30b
But a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.
She has a reverence of God. She makes Jesus Lord every day. She
is submitted to the Lord
Proverbs 31: 31a
31 Give her of the fruit of her hands,
Praise God, keep looking to the Lord, and not grow weary in doing
good and in due season you will reap the fruit of your hand.
Proverbs 31: 31b
And let her own works praise her in the gates.
Gates represents authority and influence. There is a grace on women
and husbands need to partner with God to see the plan of God fulfilled
in their lives, and it will benefit you and the family
Women are the sleeping giant - wake up not with the spirit of society,
but a Godly spirit.
