GOOD SAMARITAN
Children can work together as a class or in groups of 2 or 3 or even alone for older children. See how many words the children can make out of GOOD SAMARITAN in a certain time length. Eg: God, man, etc

2. EQUIPE DE JEUX: (10 minutes)
Everyone gets a piece of paper taped to their back. (Make sure their name is at the top of the paper.) Each person is given a marker. Walk around the room and write a compliment or positive remark about that person on their back. When everyone has written something positive on each others back, everyone returns to their seat. Each participant can take a turn at reading off the person's list to that person aloud. What a great self-esteem booster.
Or an adult can read aloud all of the positive comments about each child. The children are usually very surprised at such great things are said about them. The children can keep their lists in a folder or notebook. Then, when they're feeling a little down about themselves, they can read about how wonderful other people think they are.

31 Piga yo jwenn nan mitan nou moun ki kenbe lòt nan kè yo, moun ki gen san wo, moun ki renmen fè kòlè. Piga yo tande woywoy ak joure nan mitan nou. Nou pa fèt pou gen okenn lòt kalite mechanste k'ap fèt nan mitan nou. 32 Okontrè, se pou nou aji byen yonn ak lòt, se pou nou gen bon kè yonn pou lòt.

Kindness starts with caring —being tender hearted and compassionate toward others. If God wants us to be kind to animals, how much more to people! (Read Proverbs 12:10).

Biblical kindness involves action. “Dear children, let us stop just saying we love each other; let us really show it by our actions” (1 John 3:18).

Action usually includes some kind of effort of self-sacrifice and therefore generosity on our part, especially of our time.

Of course, the emphasis on deeds over mere words does not mean words are unnecessary. Action includes words. Encouraging words of comfort, courtesy, compliments are acts of kindness. What to say and not say should be guided by awareness of the sensitivities of others. We must help people heal from their emotional wounds rather than rubbing salt in those wounds.

Our motive for “good deeds” should not be to impress people (Read Matthew 6:1-4). The greatest rewards from God come when our acts of kindness are done humbly and quietly with no one even knowing. Genuine kindness is lending a helping hand when you expect nothing in return.
.
Jesus Christ emphasized that we must be kind to everyone, not just our family and friends It takes genuine effort to be truly kind. (Read Galatians 5:19-21), the apostle Paul refers to human nature as “the flesh” or “works of the flesh.” Eg: Hatred, jealousies, selfish ambitions and envy. Kindness requires the opposite, caring concern for others.

Jesus Christ practiced kindness that was radical for that age and culture. He always had great concern for women as well as men, for children as well as adults, for other races as well as the Jewish race, and for the sick and weak as well as the strong. Often He wore Himself out praying for people, healing people, feeding people and helping them in other ways.

When Jesus looked on the multitudes of people with all their problems, sicknesses and confusion, He was “moved with compassion” (Matthew 9:36; Matthew 14:14; Matthew 18:27). As we look at the people around us, we, too, should be moved with compassion. We, too, should be helping, giving, sharing, caring, encouraging, extending mercy, filled with compassion and acting on it as we are able—in a word, KIND.

The Parable of the Good Samaritan -
Jesus told a story about a man who was travelling from Jerusalem to Jericho when he was attacked by robbers. Let’s read Luke 10:25-37

Jesus asked, "Which of these three men was a neighbour to the man who was attacked by the robbers." (The one who helped him.)

Jesus said, "Now you go and do the same."

Drama:
Min-jun is a new boy at school he is from South Korea .(Get a boy to volunteer, put a wrap around him, give him glasses and a book.) He doesn't know anybody; his clothes are different than the other kids'; he wears thick glasses, and doesn't speak English very well.

Look at how these three boys treat him:
Child 1: Thinks he’s weird and stays away from him. (Volunteer turns away from him)
Child 2: He thinks he looks weird and proceeds to tell everyone: "Hey! Look at the weirdo!"
Child 3: He also thinks he looks weird too. But, instead of ignoring him or mistreating him, he smiles at him and shows him around the school. (Volunteer greets Min-jun, takes his hand and starts chatting with him and showing him around)

Which boy was kind to the new kid in class?

Was it Child 1 who avoided him?

Or Child 2 who laughed at him?

Or Child 3 who paid attention to him, thought about his feelings, and tried to meet his needs?

That’s what kindness is--it's paying attention to other people, their feelings, and their needs.

ACT OF KINDNESS PAPER CHAIN.
A link is added every time a random act of kindness is witnessed (The loops are made out of paper). We then send a certificate home that says "Be proud of your child, they have performed a random act of kindness today!" The kids love it!
