Moringa seeds contain oil that can be used for cooking. It has a pleasant nutty taste, and does not become rancid.

Instructions for extracting the oil:

  • Lightly fry the seeds in a saucepan.
  • Crush or pound the seeds thoroughly.
  • Place the seed mash in boiling water.
  • The oil will rise to the surface, where you can skim it off the top

The seed cake left over after extracting oil can be used as a protein-rich plant fertilizer and can also be used for water purification.
