ATTRIBUTES OF GOD
A divine attribute is a quality or characteristic that is true
about God. Each of these verses describes a divine character of
God. Read the verse and write the attribute.

GOD IS FAITHFUL
We can depend upon our God, for He is faithful. He keeps His promises.
We live with hope for the future because God’s faithfulness
never fails.
“Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; he is the
faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations
of those who love him and keep his commandments. Deuteronomy
7:9
GOD IS UNCHANGING
God does not change.
“I the LORD do not change.” Malachi 3: 6a
GOD IS GOOD
Divine goodness is different than human goodness because God is
perfectly good in every area at all times
“Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; His love endures
forever.” Psalm 107: 1
GOD IS JUST
When God acts justly, He is not doing it to conform to what man
has set as a just action. He is simply acting like Himself. God
is always, only, fully God and can never do anything other than
He is. He is just.
“He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways
are just.
A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he.”
Deuteronomy 32: 4
GOD IS COMPASSIONATE
Even in executing justice, He is merciful and compassionate.
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort.” 2
Corinthians 1: 3
Love is an attribute of God, but not a definition of God. It expresses
the way God is, just as His other qualities do. Faithfulness, goodness,
mercy, justice and holiness all express the character of God.
He is always all of these different qualities at the same time.
God’s love is always holy. It is always good, faithful, merciful
and just.
GOD IS HOLY
Divine holiness stands apart. It is unique, beyond our understanding.
God is pure, with absolute moral perfection.
A. What does God expect of Christians?
1 Peter 1: 13 – 16

B. How can we become holy?
1 Corinthians 1: 30

THREE UNIQUE ATTRIBUTES OF GOD
1. God has all power. He created this world and everything in it
by speaking it into being. He controls it all. He has power to perform
miracles. So we say God is OMNIPOTENT.
2. God knows absolutely everything. There is nothing He does not
know. God’s power and His knowledge are inseparable. We call
this His OMNISCIENCE.
3. God is everywhere at the same time. He is present everywhere
all the time. We say God is OMNIPRESENT.
Read the following Bible verses and write next to each which of
these three qualities of God each verse expresses.
• And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the
age.
Matthew 28: 20b _________________________________ ____________________
• Is anything too hard for the LORD?
Genesis 18: 14a ______________________________________________________
• Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight.
Hebrews 4: 13a ____________________________________________________

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for loving
us so much that you sent your son to die for our sins. Help all
children to understand what a wonderful gift he or she is. Help
them to know that they are a small wonder, one of a kind; that You
have given each one special gifts and a special purpose. May they
live their lives in such a way as to glorify You. You are the King
of Kings and Lord of Lord. Thank you for all the many ways you have
blessed us. Thank you Lord, in Jesus name we pray, Amen.
