Grow and Go- Water Series- Session#12 This week’s destination: JESUS IS IN HEAVEN... offering us the FREE gift of eternal life MATERIALS: Print Bible Verse Visual Aid. Crayons. Jesus outfit, (white and blue wraps) Print visual aids, Nutshell slips cut up into strips, Peanuts (ensure there is no allergies) Rubber bands. Small gifts for the children. A decorated box. AS KIDS ARRIVE PRIOR TO THE LESSON: Welcome, as the children arrive get them to colour the colouring pages and visual aids that will be used during the session.
1. WELCOME GAME: (10 minutes) Wrap a rubber band around each peanut and hide the peanuts for the Gospel in a Nutshell all around the room and get the children to find them, carefully crack open the nut shell, they can eat the peanuts and keep the shells with the rubber bands around them to be used later in the lesson. 2. TEAM GAMES: (10 minutes) The children will be in teams and will play a racing relay to see how quickly each team can run their gift to the box on the other side of the room. The first team to run all their gifts first is the winner. The teacher can have many gifts of all sizes to hand out to the children for the relay - one gift for each child.

DRAMA: A free gift First boy . I have a gift I want to give to you, but you have to work for it, first you must hop on one foot. now the other foot. great you have worked for your gift. (Open the box and give him a small gift ) Second girl. I have a gift I want to give to you because you look so nice, your hear is beautiful, your dress is lovely, you deserve this gift. (Open the box and give her a small gift ) Third child. I have a gift I want to give to you, you don't have to work for it and there is nothing you can do to deserve it, I just want to give you this gift because I love you with the love of the Lord. (Open the box and give her a small gift and the banner rolled up in the box that says 'HEAVEN') Optional:DOWNLOAD English HEAVEN banner (Get the children to colour this prior to the class, stick it together, roll it up and put it in the 'gift box') Heaven is a free gift . • Was the first gift a free gift? NO he had to work for it. • Was the second gift a free gift? NO she had to deserve it. • Was the third gift a free gift? YES she did nothing to earn it or deserve it that is how it is with the gift of eternal life in Heaven it is not something you work for or deserve. "For the wages of sin is death; but the GIFT of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord " Romans 6:23
Recite the MEMORY BIBLE VERSE: Ephesians 2:8 (Use the Visual Aid to assist the teaching) SO WHAT STOPS US FROM GETTING THIS GIFT? 2• SIN
FUN ACTIVITY: LONG JUMP TO HEAVEN Have one child dressed up like Jesus ( white wrap and blue sash across his chest ) standing at the far end of the room, draw a line on the floor far enough away from him that there is NO way the children can jump and reach him. Have the children take turns trying to long jump to Jesus. They all fail because:
We all sin, and we cannot save ourselves. There must be a different way - 3• GOD'S WAY
GOSPEL IN A NUTSHELL DRAMA: (Use Visual Aids)
He lived a perfect, POWERFUL life (Double thumbs up!) He died on the cross .(Jesus holds both hands out and head sagging like He is on a cross) And rose from the dead, (Jesus lifts His hands up and steps forward from the grave victoriously) To pay the penalty for our sins and to purchase a place in Heaven for us . (Jesus lifts His hands up to Heaven praying) Jesus is in Heaven now offering us the FREE GIFT of eternal us life (Jesus reaches under the golden chair and pulls out a gift that he holds out)

DISCUSSION/REVIEW: • Who can demonstrate the five finger Gospel Presentation (Use Visual aids as a reminder ) • Remember the three gift skit? Why was the third gift a free gift? (The child did nothing to earn it or deserve it that is how it is with the free gift of eternal life)
• Did any of you manage to Long Jump to Jesus? NO Why? 'All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God'
He came from Heaven to earth, He lived a perfect life . etc etc." • Who can recite John 3:16? • How do we get this gift? ( By faith ) • Optional: Can anyone show us how to use the Salvation Gift Box?
CHILDREN EVANGELISM OUTREACH: DOWNLOAD (You may want the children to repeat after you this prayer ) If you want to give your life to Jesus, please pray this prayer after me. "Heavenly Father - thank you for giving me the gift of life - here on your beautiful earth, - thank you that you want to give me - the free gift of eternal life. - I know that I can never be good enough - to earn this free gift, - I can never deserve it - or work hard enough for it. I know now - that sin stops me from getting this gift. - And I know we are all sinners,- separated from You.- I understand now - that there must be a different way - and there is Your way!- I know that you are loving - and you do not want to punish me - but I also know that You are just - and You must punish sin. - I am in big trouble - I have a big problem - but I thank You for solved that problem - by sending Your son Jesus.- Thank you that Jesus lived a perfect and powerful life. - Thank you Jesus - that you were prepared to die on the cross - to pay the penalty, - the price, for my sins. - Thank you - that You rose from the dead - on the third day - and you are in Heaven now - offering me the free gift of eternal life. I want to turn from my naughty, bad ways. -All the things that I do, - or don't do, - think and say - that displease you, - I repent, - I am truly sorry, - I turn from my old ways now. - Please cleanse me - and forgiven me - of my sins - I want to follow you.- Please come into my life - and take control, - I receive this gift by Faith - with a thankful heart, - thank you for welcoming me - into the Family of God. - Amen"
