Welcome to our Grow and Go six part Growth LIGHT Series.

#1 LIGHT - “Let there be light”

In het begin maakte God de hemel en de aarde. En God zei: "Ik wil dat er licht is!" Toen was er licht. (Genesis1: 1, 3)

#2 LIGHT - Jesus is the Light

Jesus Is A Shining Light - When He walked upon this earth, Jesus was in the business of delivering men from darkness. He is still doing that today.

He is still a Shining Light and a Saviour to all who will come to Him.

He said, “I am the light.” He didn’t say, “I am a light in Jerusalem.” He said, “IK BEN het licht voor de mensen” That includes us.

#3 LIGHT - God is Light

“God is licht. Er is in Hem helemaal geen” (1 Johannes 1:5b)

The disciples knew that Jesus was the Light of the world, we learnt that last week; He had told them so. They had seen in His life, words, and miracles, a glimpse of the glory of God.

When Jesus was transfigured on the mountain the disciples could see the true brightness of God’s glory.

His face shone like the sun and his garments were glowing white. There was no doubt about it. Jesus was God’s Son. He was shining with heaven’s glory; God's light.

#4 LIGHT - Walking in the Light

King David tells us

“105 Uw woord leidt mij.
Het is als een lamp voor mijn voeten,
een licht op mijn pad.” Psalmen 119 :105

God’s Word gives us instructions and shows us where to walk and where not to walk; just like the flashlight does for me in the dark. His Word guides us in the dark world it helps us not to fall into sin.

#5 LIGHT - Let your Light shine

Jesus doesn’t want us to keep our Christianity a secret. He wants us to tell others about Him! And do you know what the best way is to tell others about Him? It’s to do good to others.

In the Bible Jesus tells a story about doing good it is called the parable of the good Samaritan.

#6 LIGHT - Reflecting the Light

6 God stuurde een man: Johannes de Doper. 7 Hij moest de mensen over het Licht vertellen. Door hem zouden ze in het Licht kunnen gaan geloven. (Johannes 1: 6-7 NIV)

If we are going to reflect the light of Jesus, we must remember a couple of things:
• We must keep our faces turned toward Jesus.
• We must not let anything come between us.
When we remember those two things, we will reflect His light to the entire world.
