Make Jesus Smile - Dominica 2008

United Caribbean Trust has a deep desire to be an expression of the love of Christ on earth, bringing hope to children in Dominica responding to meet the holistic needs of the child – physically, emotionally and spiritually.

While in Dominica Island Impact worked together with Jenny Tryhane, Founder of United Caribbean Trust, to distribute the Make Jesus Smile shoboxes to the children of Dominica.

The children of World Revival Pre Primary and Destiny Pre Primary were blessed with the Summer 'Make Jesus Smile' shoebox program. Thanks to the children of Barbados that got involved in the project.

Adopt a Dominican School is a new programme being introduced which enables another school, University, corporate company, charity organization or church, either from within the Caribbean or Internationally to help and support Pre Primary schools within Dominica.

HAITI NEWS FLASH!

A 40-foot container packed with gifts ranging from toys and sweets to a cement mixer and electricity generators are about to be opened in Haiti as a Christmas gift from Barbados.

The "Santa" behind the gesture is the United Caribbean Trust (UCT), a Christian charity that has succeeded in making "elves and helpers" out of hundreds of schoolchildren, church groups, companies and women prisoners.

The distribution of over 2,000 shoeboxes took over 7 weeks and resulted in 17 Children's Outreach Parties.
