Bruce
|
Castle Bruce is a village on the
east coast of Dominica. It is the largest settlement in St.
David Parish, with a population of 1,339.
This small community has a beautiful sweeping
bay providing panaramic views of the peak of Morne Trois Pitons
which form a perfect background for this beautiful tourist attraction.
|
|
The river starts in the north
east slopes of Morne Trois Pitons, located in the Central Forest
Reserve and tumbles into the beautiful Emerald
Pool.
This natural beauty is a UNESCO World Heritage
Site. The river flows into the Atlantic Ocean at Castle Bruce
and locals come down to wash their cloths and enjoy the clean
cool water.
|
|
This is a great place for the Missionaries
to come and enjoy a day at the beach, exploring the almond groves
that can be found at the mouth of the river, walking on the long
sweeping, black volcanic beach or swimming and battling the Atlantic
waves. When its time to go home why not wash off in the cool fresh
river water before a 1/2 drive back to the Camp site. |
