On one side of the Camp is the
communal office and what could be a general store, a auditorium
and a semi detatched house that could be the Camp superintendents
home.
This facility has a long open veranda and is
ideal for meditation, meetings or even a concert.

United Caribbean Trust (UCT) seeks
to help build safer and stronger communities in partnership
with the tourism sector.
Helping with self-development, educational and
enterprise projects seeking to empower disadvantaged individuals
and communities to enable them to contribute to the viability
of the tourism sector and the stability of the nation.
|
|
UCT aims to improve communities through the application
of social development projects creating opportunities for individuals
and communities to develop sustainable livelihoods and serve to strengthen
the relationship between the tourism sector and communities.
In Dominica we are in negotiations to help establish
a fruit pulp factory and agro project to supply our Barbadian fruit
pulp needs. This will enable UCT to establish our Imagine
me... Healthy fruit juices that we are looking to introduce into
the local schools and help fund the Make
Jesus Smile shoebox ministry and the child sponsorship programme
in places like Dominica, Haiti and Suriname.

United Caribbean Trust has thrown
its support behind sports ministries in Nigeria,
HIV/AIDS youth programmes in Tanzania
and Malawi, a child sponsorship programme in
Dominica in Suriname
and
Haiti, as well as church building project in Tanzania,
in Carriacou and
Petit Martinique. All these countries are perfect locations
for short term Mission Holidays and UCT is sourcing Misison
Holiday Villages in all these locations. |

Another area being looked into
is the possibility of setting up a Teen Challenge Dominica at
the Camp.
We see this being a dynamic faith-based year
long residential training facility for young men aged 16 to
30 with life-controlling addictions. We are looking at using
20 beds for this purpose and negotiations are in place to make
this a reality.
At Teen Challenge Dominica, these men will receive
hope for their futures and an opportunity to change their lives
for good!
Teams are needed to help us see this vision
become a reality. |

UCT is looking to partner with the AGWM MAPS Construction
teams. Since 1963, they have been ministering around the world. Volunteers
assist national believers in building or repairing churches, orphanages,
Bible School facilities and Teen Challenge centres.
Some teams rebuild structures that were damaged or
destroyed by a disaster. These one- to two-week trips help national
fellowships grow and thrive, and give participants a chance to broaden
their understanding of how God can use them.
A variety of projects are needed to be undertaken
at Camp Dominca to get it ready for Mission Holidays or a long term
Teen Challenge centre.
The toilet and shower block is
located next to one of the dormitories, it has 8 toilets and
6 showers.
Another bathroom facility would be needed to
allow the camp to come up to full capacity. There is plenty
of space to the side or behind the existing facility.
Teams are needed to help with this work |
|
|
At the far end of the Camp is
another building that is in need of refurbishment. The roof
needs securing and the external deck roof erected.
The building is in need of repainting and upgrading. |
Adjacent to the kitchen and laundry
area is the foundations of another chalet that was removed this
needs to be rebuilt and integrated into the Camp facility. |
|
|
Funding is required to rebuild this property
and hands of help needed to do the work.
Free accommodation can be provided to the
mission teams actively involved in the project.
|
A basket ball pitch needs to be
created on the recreational land at the back of the facility.
The Camp would be ideal for Sports Evangelism
and could house sports teams from various churches all over
the Caribbean and Internationally. The is a football sports
playing field close to the site. |
