The school is a building with 2 floors containing 15 classes. The teachers have all had secondary teacher training, training that can be taken in Port-au-Prince. The teachers follow a program prescribed by the ministry of education from which they are not permitted to deviate.

The Foundation Heart for Haiti attaches high value to good Christian education. Reading and writing is extremely important because 75% of Haiti’s population is illiterate. It’s also important because the children learn about the Bible in their classes. For many children, this is the only good education they will be able to receive.

At the kindergarten, the children wear a pink uniform. The children at the primary school wear a blue uniform, and those at the secondary school wear a blue and white uniform.

The children start at school reading a Bible text and singing songs. At the present time there are 60 children in kindergarten, 350 in the primary school, and 120 in the secondary school.

Child Sponsorship Program

50 people taking part in the Part Sponsorship Feeding Program could feed 500 children for a year.

This would feed 350 Heart for Haiti children and bless 150 other orphans from smaller organizations that have no international assistance.
