Welcome to Teen Challenge Barbados - this was a dynamic faith-based year long residential training facility for young men aged 16 and older with life-controlling addictions. Located in the South East corner of Beautiful Barbados, This 30 -bed Centre for men once catered to the entire Caribbean region.
At Teen Challenge, these men received hope for their futures and an opportunity to change their lives for good!

Teen Challenge is the oldest, largest and most successful program of its kind in the world. In 1958, David Wilkerson author of "The Cross and the Switchblade," became burdened with the desire to help youth, adults, and families suffering from life controlling problems primarily in the area of Drug and alcohol abuse.

To counter the feelings of loneliness and alienation, which he found in the street gangs of New York City, he started to take a message of love and freedom into their communities. This was the birth of Teen challenge. Teen Challenge has grown to more than 80 countries worldwide and approximately 475 centers.

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) Barbados serves locally as Combined Faith Christian Sports Ministry, which was founded in 2000 by Dean A. Squires out of his passion for God and basketball. In a time where many churches were losing their appeal among the youth, such an initiative was very timely for giving greater opportunities for young people to engage with the Gospel message.  The four major areas of focus are coaches, schools, camps (basketball, soccer, volleyball) and communities (including sports clubs).

Dean was the Program Director at Teen Challenge and did an excellent job with the guys to lift up Jesus through sports evangelism.
