Africa Child Evangelism - FunTastic Fun Fair

This is an exciting new program that Jenny and Don Thompson have been working on as a means of introducing children to the Salvation Message in a fun way.

This is an exciting new program that Jenny and Don Thompson have been working on as a means of introducing children to the Salvation Message in a fun way. Using games and drama the children are introduced to 11 Bible verses that take them though the various steps to Salvation.

This is an excellent program to teach the youth of your local church and get them involved in an open air child evangelism outreach. This is a great way to launch your PowerClub or extend your children's church.

Seen here Nicodemus one of our translators who did an excellent job. He is seen here holding up one of the Bible Verses that will be learnt during the FunTastic Fun Fair

These verses will be taught using games and skits so that learning the Scripture verses are FUN!

This is an excellent program to teach the youth of your local church and get them involved in an open air child evangelism outreach.

FUNTASTIC FUN FAIR!

"I have really GOOD news for you, God has a free gift He wants to give to you! He wants to give you the FREE gift of eternal life, living with Him in Heaven forever!

Heaven is a free Gift....it is not something you work for or deserve.

If you are using drama as well as games you can introduce the 'Heaven Gift Box' skit here

Game # 1 Wages of Sin:

HEAVEN
Game # 1: Missing the Mark

The Trainer recites the verse to the children before they begin the game.“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life.” (Romans 6:23)

The child has to throw some coins (wages) into the gift box as he recites Romans 6:23. Or through a bullseye reminding the child sin is missing the mark.

All of this material has been translated into Swahili and is a part of the workbook that has been given to each ministry represented in the Child Evangelism and Decipleship workshop.

At the end of every game the child is given a little Bible verse to take with them as their reward.

This verse has a little gift box to remind the children that the gift of God is eternal life.

Game #2: God's Big Gift

“For it is by grace that you have been saved through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--not by works, so that no one can boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)

The Trainer recites the verse to the team before they begin the game. Each child throws three balls at three small gift boxes stacked up trying to knock them over while reciting the verse. This will help the children to remember the Bible verse

The Trainer asks the question as the child leaves the game. "So what keeps us from getting this gift? " ... SIN
" We all sin, and cannot save ourselves".

Game #2: The Friend's Gift

• Three Gift Skit:

A little boy is called up to receive a gift but he has to work for the gift ... he has to hop up and down on his leg to work for his gift.

Then a little girl is called up to receive a gift .. she deserves this gift because she is well dressed or her hair looks lovely.

Then the last child is called up she is told

"I have a gift in here for you, but you do not have to work for it or there is nothing you can do to deserve it, I want to give you this gift because I love you with the love of the Lord".

As the child receives their gift a long banner is produced saying 'Grace' or 'Heaven'

The children are then asked if the first gift was FREE...? "No he had to work for it."

Was the second gift a free gift? "No she had to deserve it", in fact it was only the last gift that was indeed FREE this is how Grace works.

Heaven is a free Gift....it is not something you work for or deserve.

HEAVEN / NEEMA

Heaven is a free Gift....it is not something you work for or deserve.

At the end of Game2 the child is given a little Bible verse to take with them as their reward.

This verse has a gift box as well to remind the children of the box game.

Game #3: Long Jump to Heaven

The Trainer recites the verse to the children before they begin the game.
“For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)

Game #3: Long Jump

The children stand at the line you have drawn in the dirt and are instructed to jump to the person dressed as Jesus in a white sheet with a blue sash and a yellow Jesus crown. (Ensuring ‘Jesus’ is far enough away that it is impossible to reach in one jump. )

As they try to jump but fail the Teacher reminds them that we all fall short of God's glory in the same way they fall short of the mark.

Trainer asks the children “What is sin?...Sin is anything we think, say, do or don't do that does not please God”.

At the end of Game3 the child is given a little Bible verse to take with them as their reward this verse has a boy long jumping to remind the child of the game they just played.

SIN/ DHAMBI

Game #4: Perfection Egg Test

The trainer recites the verse to the children before they begin the game.
“Be perfect, therefore, as your Heavenly Father is perfect.” (Matthew 5:48)

Draw a circular line on the ground with chalk or tape. Place a plastic egg on the child's head. The child recites the verse as they follow the line on the ground. The egg will fall from their head as they say the verse. Be sure to point out to the child that no one is perfect. This will help the children to remember even though we try to be perfect like God it is impossible. No one is perfect!

Trainer states as the child leaves the game. "There must be a different way -

God's way"

Game #4: Perfection Egg Walk

At the end of Game 4 the child is given a little Bible verse to take with them as their reward this verse has a egg to remind the child of the Perfection Egg test they just failed!

GOD/MUNGU

Game #5: Big Gloves

Game #5: Big Gloves

The trainer reads the verses
God is loving but God is also just. The Bible says “God is love …” (1 John 4:8b)

But the Bible also says “Yet He does not leave the guilty unpunished.” (Exodus 34:7b)

The child puts on the two gloves one marked LOVE on the right hand and the other marked JUST on the left. They are instructed to say as they hold out the right hand. "On the one hand God loves us and does not want to punish us", the child is then instructed to hold out the other hand and say "but on the other hand God is just" (he then takes his right hand and pounds his left and says) "and must punish sin".

At the end of Game 5 the child is given a little Bible verse to take with them as their reward this verse has two big hand to remind the child of the two big hands they wore during this demonstration and a world to remind the child that He has the whole world in His hands.

The Trainer asks....

"Do you see the problem? God solved the problem by sending His Son Jesus."

JESUS/YESU

Game #6: The World

The trainer recites
"Jesus is God, He came from Heaven to earth, He lived a perfect life, He died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins, He rose from the dead and He is in Heaven now offering us the free gift of eternal life."

The Trainer then recites the verse to the children before they begin the game.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

There are a variety of options, the children jump rope while reciting the verse to the rhythm of the jump or the girls can do hand clapping games. An alternative is to pass the Globe beach ball between the trainer and the child each one saying one word of the verse as they catch the ball.

Game #6: The World

At the end of Game 6the child is given a little Bible verse to take with them as their reward this verse has a world to remind the child of the globe game as they recited

John 3:16

OPTIONAL: The Big Record Book of my life

Game #7: The Big Record Book of my life

The Trainer holds out the Big Record Book (not the Bible) and says

"Let’s suppose this book is a record of my life, first page is a birth certificate the last page is my death certificate and all the pages in between contain a record of my life all the good things I have done and all the bad things I have done. There are some things in this book I am not very proud about."

The Trainer holds out his right hand and says
"Let’s suppose this represents me and laying on top of me is the 'Record book of sin' and its heavy!"

The Trainer places the Big Book on his right hand and pretends that it is very heavy and says
"It contains all the good things I have done but it also contains a record of all the BAD things I have done."

The Trainer holds up his left hand high up in the air directly above the Big Book and says

"Let’s suppose this represents God. God is Holy, loving and just and His eyes are too pure and holy to even gaze on sin. (Habakkuk 1:13) So when God looks at me He can’t see me because of the sin in my life. The sin separates me from God.

Game 7

The Trainer now brings his left hand down to the same level to his right hand and the Big Book and says

The Bible says “We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on Jesus"

The Trainer transfers the Big Book, which contains all his sins, from his right hand to the left hand that represents Jesus and says "the iniquity (sins) of us all.”

(Isaiah 53:6)

"Remember Jesus is God, He came from Heaven to earth,

He lived a perfect life.

He died on the cross"

"He was buried"

"He rose from the dead and ...

He is in Heaven now offering us the free gift of eternal life.

Is there anything now that separates me from God?"

The Teacher now moves his left hand down and interlocks his right hand and says "NOW, my sin is gone as far as the east is from the west and now I can be in the right relationship with God.

How do we get this relationship with God and the gift of eternal life?"

By Faith

Game #7: Life Saviour

Game #8: Life Saviour

Trainer recites "Saving Faith is not just knowing about God in your head.... Saving Faith is not just temporary, Saving Faith is trusting in Jesus ALONE for our eternal life."

The Bible says “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved …” (Acts 16:31) "

The trainer sits in a chair and pretends to be drowning with a ‘Drowning Man’ sign around his neck calling out for HELP. Trainer asks the child to throw him a life ring. The child says the verse as he throws the ring labeled - Life Saviour

Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved …”

"Does this make sense to you?"

COMMITMENT

Game #8: The Door

The Trainer hides behind the door and the child knocks on the door, the trainer opens the door and says

“Jesus says ‘I stand at the door and knock, (Trainer knocks on his chest) if anyone hears my voice (Trainer cups his hand to his ear) and opens the door, (Trainer pretends to unlock a door on his chest and opens it) I will come in…” (Trainer uses two fingers to demonstrate Jesus walking into his heart) (Rev 3:20)

Game #9: The Door

The Trainer says "Jesus is a gentleman and He will not kick in the door to your heart or come in uninvited you MUST open the door and invite Him in."
The child recites the Scripture using the hand motions along with the trainer.

At the end of Game 8the child is given a little Bible verse to take with them as their reward this verse has a door to remind them that Jesus is knocking on the door of their heart.

Once all the children have experienced all the games and have their little Bible verses then they can be all gathered together and the Trainer summaries the entire Salvation message using the Story Cards with reference to the games, Bible verses and skits learned during the FunTastic Fun Fair leading up to the point where the children are encouraged to make a decision for Jesus
