Stonecroft Honduras Child Sponsorship Program - ADOPT A SCHOOL

Helping Hands Ministries Honduras Adopt a school program

Adopt a School is a new UCT program being introduced into Hoonduras which enables a church,a Faith based organization or business either from within the Caribbean or Internationally, to help and support schools within Honduras. UCT seekS now to partner with Stonecroft to introduce this into Honduras working in association with Helpin Hands Ministries.

Pastor Eddie Lawrence of Faith Church gave funds to buy complete set of books for the children at this school. Only a few schools in Honduras have such resources for study.

Helping Hands Ministries believe education is a way out of poverty. Faith Church also gave them Bibles and the teacher (the only one) promised to read the Bible to the students each day.

The Adopt a School program has been designed to create, establish and encourage linkages between the schools within Haiti with International Churches. UCT believes God will establish these programs throughout the Caribbean and the Americas.

The program enables various Character Building and Evangelical Educational Programmes as well as Early Childhood Music Programmes to be introduced into schools.

United Caribbean Trust has established a Caribbean equivalent to Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child, we have called our project 'Make Jesus Smile'

We have extended the project into numerous schools within Barbados and it seems destined to become an end of term activity. Enabling the children of Barbados to send a shoe box of love and hope into desperately poor situations, such as Haiti, the Carib Territory of Dominica, Suriname and God willing Hondurus.

United Caribbean Trust's Founder, Jenny Tryhane and UCT Early Childhood Coordinator, Paulette Scantlebury (seen here in Barbados) travelled to Haiti, mid May 2007, to deliver 200 shoe boxes and again in December to deliver over 300 Christmas shoe boxes. A mission trip was made to Suriname for Easter 2008 with 150 boxes and another trip to Dominica in the summer to introduce the program there.

These are the means used to establish and extend the Child Sponsorship Program.
