Mosquito nets offer protection against mosquitoes, flies, and other insects, and thus against the diseases they may carry.

Examples include Malaria, Dengue fever, Yellow fever, and various forms of Encephalitis, including the West Nile virus.

Malaria is a life-threatening disease caused by parasites that are transmitted to people through the bites of infected mosquitoes.

In 2012, Malaria caused an estimated 627 000 deaths (with an uncertainty range of 473 000 to 789 000), mostly among African children.

Malaria is preventable and curable.

The African Region accounts for 85% of Malaria cases and 90% of Malaria deaths worldwide.

85% of Malaria deaths occur in children under five years of age.

Every 30 seconds a child dies from Malaria.

To be effective the mesh of a mosquito net must be fine enough to exclude such insects without impeding visibility or the flow of air unacceptably.

It is possible to increase the effectiveness of a mosquito net greatly by treating it with an appropriate insecticide or mosquito repellant.

For just US $20 each we can supply nets to every child within our care.
