Jenny Tryhane, the founder of
United Caribbean Trust travelled to Dominica this summer, with
the youth of Island Impact, to distribute the Make Jesus Smile
shoeboxes to two schools in Dominica thus activating the Child
Sponsorship Program.
As the children received their gifts, produced
by the children of Barbados, they were photographed and documented
and below you can click onto their individual web pages to learn
about them and see how you can actively make a difference in
the lives of these children.

What
will your US $30 per month achieve?
The money will be divided
into 2 modules
- The first 1/3rd of the fees will go to the
school to cover school fees, uniform, shoes, books and pencils
etc.
- The last 2/3rd will go towards funding the
After School Club similar to the one established in Haiti.
This will include an afternoon feeding programme and a child
educational, character building, drug awareness, evangelical
teaching programme and Bible Study for the children and their
mothers.
|
During the After
School Club there will be a variety of activities. We are looking
at the introduction of three different children's educational
and empowerment ministries.
Some of these ministries are American based
however UCT is looking to partner with them and seeks to establish
a Caribbean version for the Adopt a School Programme and After
School Club.

Drug Abuse is one of the most
consistent and significant contributors to the social problems
in existence in the Carib Territory community today. UCT has
partnered with Children Are
People to intorduce the CAP programme into the After School
Club. The primary objective of this proposed programme is the
facilitation of ‘drug abuse prevention’.
