Thy
Kingdom Come Deliverance Sanctuary- Hurricane Shelter
The Community in which we live could be exposed to hazards
which could make us face and have to learn to cope, with emergency situations.
Identify
and locate Hazards to the Community
Hurricanes
can be dangerous killers, lessons learned in Ivan and Emily must teach
us to prepare for future events. Learning the hurricane warning messages
and planning ahead can reduce the chances of injury or major property
damage.
MITIGATION
Mitigation includes any activities that prevent an emergency,
reduce the chance of an emergency happening, or lessen the damaging effects
of unavoidable emergencies. Investing in preventive mitigation steps now
such as strengthening and reinforcing masonry to withstand wind and flooding
and installing shutters on every window will help reduce the impact of
hurricanes in the future.
Thy
Kingdom Come Deliverance Sanctuary has been built and reinforced with
hurricanes in mind. It has been designed to facilitate our members and
those within the community in the event of a serious hurricane threat.
Assistance is being sought Nationally, Regionally and
Internationally to get financial assistance to transform this church into
a hurricane shelter to house and protect over 50 people.
Your prayers are needed and donations can be sent directly
to Carriacou or to United Caribbean Trust in Barbados.
