Athletics are an integral part of the every culture and society on earth and soccer reigns supreme.

Russ Carr, founder of Sports Outreach Institute calls athletics an "all-terrain vehicle" that moves swiftly through the diversities of culture our world enjoys and becomes a "great common denominator" with "incredible potential" and "staggering impact."

Secular authors such as Dr. Richard Witzig have outlined soccer's potential for positive influence in his 2006 work The Global Art of Soccer. "Soccer's potential for positive values ascends from the commitment that youth place in the simplest of games. By virtue of being the world's game, soccer has the opportunity, and many say the responsibility, to increase young people's self confidence, sense of community and personal integrity."
