“Welcome to my world. Won’t you come on in?”

Do you remember the late Jim Reeves singing those words? May I borrow those words to welcome every visitor to the ATBS website. We love having the opportunity to show and tell about African Training Bible School.

We live in a world where sin goes on unabated and unchallenged. The Apostle Paul recognized that same condition in his day over two thousand years ago, Galatians 1:4. In the aftermath of unrestrained immorality, the people of Africa are ravaged by AIDS and poverty. The middle generation has almost entirely disappeared. Children are left as orphans. Aging grandparents have to fill the breech to care for the little victims. Some are left on the streets to die or become vagabonds. Sin hurts. Sin destroys. Many other sins are committed by the local people who don’t know any better. They don’t know Jesus or His church. The message of salvation hasn’t come to them yet. They don’t know that “the wages of sin is death,” Romans 6:23.

This is precisely the reason why African Training Bible school was established. A hand full of foreign missionaries could never reach all the lost of the land without training many local disciples to preach the gospel to them, they faced many gaps that they could not fill ,languages ,food and weather ., 2 Timothy 2:2.

God has granted us a place and a time for getting dedicated people trained to serve in the Kingdom of God.
