“In April 2005, I received an
email about a possible trip to Jacmel, Haiti. I began to think about
going; however, family and friends at first had other thoughts.
All I heard was, 'Laci, that would be too dangerous
to go'

| Yet, God kept leading my
heart to go against what people were telling me. Slowly, God began
to change my family's hearts as well. They let go of their worries
and became excited for me to go. I had no clue what to expect.

A friend of mine, Philip (who also went on the trip),
gave Pastor Lafleur my email, and we began chatting. This got me
even more excited. Pastor encouraged me that it was not too dangerous
to go to Haiti. He said, "If you did not go to places because
they were too dangerous, then you would not leave your home---everywhere
is dangerous." This comforted me as well.

I knew in my heart that the safest place to be is
in the center of God's will, so I went!
My experience in Jacmel was life-changing. I was blessed by every
smile I saw and every person I met. I know now that there is great
need in Haiti. Part of me is still there. This is why I am going
back.

In a couple of months, we will be heading back to Jacmel. I pray
that if there is anyway you as a reader can help this ministry,
you do so. I have seen this ministry first hand, and I know that
Pastor Lafleur has a heart for this country."
