Dr. Soul Skit
This drama provides
children with practice in identifying the types of answers
to the two diagnostic questions The children try to determine
if each patient is trusting Jesus or not based on their understanding
of the person's answers.
"Do you know for sure that
you are going to be with God in Heaven some day?"
If God asked you "Why should
I let you into my Heaven" what would you
say?
|
|
|
Before beginning to examine
a patient, they must first take a 'stress test'.
This involves reciting the Romans 6: 23 cadence.
The boys love this one! |
ATTENTION!
Left..., left..., left, right, left
For the wage of sin is death (Leader
first; then repeated)
Coming at your when you draw your
last breath. (Leader first; then repeated)
You don't have to know this strife
(Leader first; then repeated)
For the gift of God is eternal life
(Leader first; then repeated)
Romans 6 and 23 (Leader first;
then repeated)
Tell me now what it's gonna be.
Death, life, death, life, death,
LIFE!
|
After the stress test each patient
is examined
- One is trusting in Jesus but needs encouragement
and prayer support for Spiritual growth
- One is not trusting in Jesus and needs
to hear the Gospel to receive eternal life
- One is trusting in Jesus but needs to hear
the Gospel for assurance because he/she is not sure of eternal
life
- One is not trusting in Jesus and is trusting
in the wrong things, and needs to hear the Gospel to receive
eternal life

The Three Gift Skit

- The second is deserved
- The third if a free gift... GRACE

Bondage of Sin Skit
Sin tricks us so we think we can be good enough
or work herd enough to earn or deserve going to Heaven, But
we will always fall short of God's standard. How does sin
trick us?
|
|
It binds us up, trips us up
and blinds us
Someone has to come and remove the trappings
of sin. Jesus did this, We need to repent and ask Jesus to
forgive our sins and to set us free. |
|
Rotton Egg Illustration
|
Trying to be good enough to
get to Heaven would be like trying to bake chocolate chip
cookies with a rotten egg. Even if the flour, sugar, milk
and chocolate chips are all good, one rotton egg ruins all
the cookies. In God's eye, one sin (like a bad thought, or
unkind word) is enough to ruin all the good we do. Just being
good or just a little bit rotton doesn't meet God's standard
of perfection.
"There must be a different way ... God's way" |
Suppose a person sinned just
3 times a day, He would be pretty good, right?
Multiply this by the number of days in a year,
and round it off to 1,000, multiplied by the 70 years he expects
to live is 70,000 sins!
Wow, and that's someone that is pretty good
and only sins 3 times a day, How good would you have to be
in God's eyes? Perfect! And even one sin would spoil perfection.
Do you see why it is impossible to save yourself? |
|
We all sin, and we cannot save ourselves. We need
Jesus to forgive us and to set us free (1 John 1 v 19)
Two Gloves
Skit
Do you see the problem on one hand God is
loving, but God is also just
The Bible says, "God is love” (1
John 4:8b);
but the Bible also says, “(He) will
by no means clear the guilty” (Exodus 34:7b KJV).

The Bank Robber
Suppose I robbed a bank and a hidden camera
took a picture of me doing it, So I came before the judge
and he asked me. "How do you plead?"
The evidence would make it clear, all I could
say is "Guilty, your honor" But, what if I tried
to plead with the judge and say "I'm sorry I robbed the
bank and I'll give the money back, I promise I'll never rob
another bank if you let me go" Do you think the judge
would listen to my pleading and let me go?... NO and if he
did. would he be a just judge.. |
NO, there is a standard of justice
that requires that every crime committed should be paid for.
Its the same with God. He has a standard of justice that requires
a payment for all sin. |

The General Garcia Skit
This skit is narrated as the actors perform
it. General Garcia is outraged because food has been stolen
and it is in short supply.
He announces that anyone caught stealing food
will be publically whipped.
|
Not long after that night, the
lieutenant came to General Garcia and told him that more food
had been stolen and the thief had been caught.
And it was Garcia's own elderly mother! |
|
|
The General had a problem if
he whipped his mother she would probable die, if he did
not punish her, he would lose the authority and respect
of everyone as their leader.
But General Garcia did something
that shocked everyone, He took off his shirt from his own
back and ordered his lieutenant to whip him instead of his
mother! In this way his justice was satisfied. At the same
time his love for his mother was proven. The penalty was
paid, justice was carried out.
|
We are like Garcia's mother. We deserve to be punished
for our sins. But, God spared us of that punishment thorough Jesus
who died in our place and paid the full price for all our sins.
The Lifeboat
Skit
This is a story about a little boy that lives
on an island and wants to build a boat to sail around the
island.
(The children are encouraged to make all the
sounds in this skit, prompted by the leader)
|
|
|
He sets about with his hammer (TAP
- TAP -TAP) and his saw ( SCRUNCH - SCRUNCH -SCRUNCH -) until
his boat is finished and he sets out to sea. |
|
|
But a great storm blows up and
the wind blows and the lightning crashes and the boat begins
to sink.
Then out of the mist comes the Life Boat (TOOT
-TOOT -TOOT) The captain at the helm calls to the little boy
" Ahoy there little boy - do you want help?" But
the little boy will not give up his boat even though it is
sinking he made it himself. One again the plea is made to
help and eventually he accepts the Life Savior and is drawn
to safety. |
The sinking boat represents us with all the leaks
caused by sin. The life boat represents Jesus - The Way The Truth
and The Life.
Like the little boy we have to make a choice...
are we going to trust in ourselves with our good works and our sin
to get us into Heaven? Or are we going to trust Jesus and what He
did for us on the cross?
Saving Faith is placing our trust in Jesus Christ
ALONE for our eternal life.
Two Chair Skit
A young volunteer
stands with one foot on one chair labled JESUS and another
foot on another chair labled ME. On this side stands the Devil
whispering tempting statements into his ear, After each statement
the ME chair is inched further apart from the JESUS chair,
causing the volunteer to split his legs wider and wider apart.
The Jesus actor boldly declares scripture
to counter each tempting statement |
|
|
You see, we cannot be on both
sides, We cannot trust JESUS alone and trust ME at the same
time.
Making a commitment means to trust Jesus Christ
ALONE and in His payment for our sins on the cross.
Praise God our young volunteer chose the JESUS
chair and placed both feet firmly in the chair. Jesus celebrates
and the class clap and shout and whistle! |
Growing Plant Illustration
Using a living flowering plant we discuss
what a plant needs to grow
- Water
- Sunlight
- Good soil
- Fertilizer
What does a mature plant have on it (fruit
or flowers0 |
|
Jesus said "YOu did not choose Me. but I chose
you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that
your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father
in My name, He may give you." (John 15 :16)
|
Bees Illustration
Show a flower on the plant. Do you know that
something very small helps the flowers blossom nd reproduce?
Do you know what it is?
It is a bee.
|
|
The bees go from flower to flower
collecting pollen,. As they do this, they are spreading the
pollen collected from the flowers. This causes the flowers to
reproduce so there will be many more beautiful flowers next
year. |
Like a bee, God can use you
to bless many people, by telling them about Jesus!
This of this, every time you see a flower,
or a bee. |
