September 2003, I became a student
at Youth with a Mission Barbados, where I completed a 6 months
course in Discipleship Training School. (DTS) The course was divided
into 3 months of intents lectures and 3 months mission outreach
to a different country.
YWAM
Barbados exists to glorify God by being a multinational
apostolic community of believers that model and implement Biblical
principles of holistic, community transformation.
In response to the scriptural mandate
to make disciples of all the nations, and in partnership with
others, we will mobilize and train workers and provide them with
opportunities to impact every sector of society and minister to
the poor and unevangelised throughout the world. Source
The course helped me to develop
a close relationship with God, to be a disciple who knows the
love of God, to be a servant in the Kingdom of God, to be a witness
of His perfect love towards mankind. I have studied the Father
Heart of God, to know God and make Him known. My knowledge and
my understanding has been increase with the Wisdom of God to be
the disciple He has called me to be.
Youth
With A Mission is an international movement of
Christians from many denominations dedicated to serving Jesus
throughout the world, their calling is to know God and to make
Him known.
Their many ministries fit into three main categories:
evangelism, training and mercy ministry.
During my DTS studies, I realized
the purpose of my life as a Christian was to be a missionary,
to help people, to see the love of God moves in their hearts and
in their soul and to see the peace of God over the entire world.
As my studies continued, I commenced the 3 month outreach
stage of DTS which took me to Haiti.

While there I had opportunities to work with many
different groups. Ministering to the needs of the people.
I felt the called of God to be
apart of YWAM Barbados and I became a part of a six members
team helping to disciple the student. During this time God released
me into my full purpose as a missionary.
2005 was my season of training and
equipping for better service for the Lord. I started attending
the YWAM Foundation Community Development. (FCD) course in Mission,
Montana, in the USA.
