We want to thank you for considering The WISH Centre and below
is an update of some of the work that your past donations have enabled
us to achieve.
Project PEARYL will be a Project for Enriching
And Restoring Young
Lives. We are seeking to establish a Crisis Centre
for the youth of Barbados. With help from the Barbados Community
Foundation we have been able to upgrade these properties in preparation
for the Crisis Centre.
Bunk beds were
able to be stained and installed in some of the bedrooms. |
|
|
Bedrooms have been repainted and
curtain rails erected, thanks to the local hotels that donated
curtains and bedspreads making this north east facing bedroom
a delightful room with distant views of Skeetes
Bay. |
The south east facing bedroom will be able to sleep 13
little girls within our PEARYL Program. |
|
|
The bathroom has 4 toilets
and 4 showers and has been tiled and upgraded with new shower
curtains featuring butterflies representing the transformation
we are hoping for in the children at the Crisis Centre. |
Angels
Annex is located in a lovely tropical garden with wide
open spaces for rest and recreation overlooking the football
field. |
|
|
Thanks to your donations the
subdivided bedrooms have been repainted and the doors replaced
and the corridor has been tiled.
Rooms have been enlarged and some windows replaced.
Bunk beds have been stained and repositioned in these bedrooms.
|
|
The largest bedroom has been tiled and five
bunks have been installed to cater for the large summer camp
bookings.
This is where eventually 28 little boys within
the Crisis Centre will be housed. |
Summer 2012
We were truly honoured to host Dr. Brenda Caldwell
in Barbados at The WISH Centre as our first national outreach to
the youth of our island in the summer of 2012.
|
Dr. Brenda Caldwell, affectionately known as “Dr.
B”, is one of the most life changing empowerment
speakers on the circuit in America today.
|
|
Day of Hope for girls
was a powerful day of
interactive healing at The WISH Centre with Dr. B for girls
ages 9-15 years old in the Barbados communities. |
Dr. B empowers both adult and youth audiences by profoundly
dealing with hard issues as well as heart issues in a way
that leaves a lasting impact. She is insightful, informative
and inspirational.
|
|
|
During the Day of Hope for God's
Diamonds, held at The WISH Centre she addressed issues
such as low self-esteem, low self-worth, unforgiveness,
anger, abuse and hurt.
|
The girls refused to continue to be victims as they were
healed from past hurts & damaged emotions.
|
|
Further work including visiting the girls and boys Government
Industrial School.
Dr B visited Sterlings Children's Home
three times during her visit to Barbados.
We were also able to take her to seven Secondary schools where
she was greatly received.

Thanks to all the sponsors that assisted us
with this national youth outreach, feeding these girls at
The WISH Centre. Thanks to the ministry partners that came
alongside us to help with cooking, counseling and other needs
during the days at The Centre. |
|
None of this could have happened without help from organizations
such as the Barbados Community Foundation.

Summer 2013
Hikers traversed the coastal
cliffs, hacked through tropical gullies, crossed the College
Savannah and followed the coastline where the old train line
from the 1800's once ran! |
|
|
Passing though the historic Consett
bay, one of many sheltered fishing harbours in the parish
of St.John. |
|
Ending up in beautiful Bath
beach one of the closest beaches to The WISH Centre. |
It gave us the opportunity to
get involved in Bible teaching and character building training.

And it wasn't all serious
there were great games and fun was had by all! |
There was field trips to Three
Houses Park, where the children spent time relaxing under
the trees being taught about drug awareness and even found time
to explore the natural spring that runs through the park. |
|
Summer 2014
Once again thanks to the Barbados Community
Foundation for their donation that will enable us to build
a play area and swing park at The WISH Centre as well as build
five picnic tables for our Child Crisis Centre.
