Suriname
- Child feeding program
|
Approximately 70% of children
in cities attend school however children in the interior do
not receive the same level of education, and as few as 40%
actually attend school. Children face increasing economic
pressure to discontinue their education in order to work
|
In the world over 800 million
people go to bed hungry every day...300 million are children. That
is the equivalent of the entire US population!
Of all these children, only 8% are victims
of famine or other emergency situations. The vast majority
are suffering from long-term, chronic hunger. |
|
Many children go to school
in Suriname on an empty stomach. The vision is to feed the
children every morning before they go to school.
Your help could make a real difference to
the learning capacity of a child in Suriname. |

Suriname cuisine consists of a variety of different
vegetables which grow in its tropical climate mixed with the
traditional cuisine of the different ethnic groups. Since several
rivers run from the Amazonian jungle to the Atlantic Ocean,
fish is an important source of food. These can be from a salt
water, brackish water, swamp, or river environment.

"We have been on the field for the last 28
months, the time has passed so quickly, we are very thankful to
the Lord and to you for the generous support that we have received.
The following is a brief report of our activities, placed in categories
