Thanks again to Roland Edwards for an excellent job done, the children of Haiti were blessed with dozons of boxes.

Roland Edwards Primary School in St Peter is developing a professional learning community to ensure that all its students learn.

Principal Michael Watson said yesterday that the model was implemented at the start of the new academic year 2007 to 2008 to "build shared knowledge and find common ground to ensure that students learn, in order to move forward with the school improvement initiatives.

"A teacher can teach, but at the end of the day, if the child does not demonstrate the knowledge of learning, it is a waste of time . . . . Whatever we teach the children, we want to be sure that they have demonstrated having learnt that concept," he said.

And again this Christmas, Rowland Edwards is the only school on the island that has supported this project at the end of every term during 2007 and we want to say a special THANK YOU.
