  • About one in five adults in today’s world—774 million people—is illiterate.

ProtEQt Childrens Foundation's (PCF) mission is to provide educational sponsorships for vulnerable children - especially those orphaned by AIDS - in the Rakai District of south-western Uganda, a district particularly ravaged by the HIV and AIDS epidemic.

Uganda cannot solely rely on government to bear the burden of improving education service delivery. Rather, all stakeholders should be involved, it advises.

“More often than not, parents rely on government to fully facilitate their children’s education and yet our work will always be focused on the larger national picture,” he said while reading the speech of the ministry of Education permanent secretary.

There is only one party for whom achievement of an individual is paramount. The role of parents is critical. We are all in this together,” he added
