The Orphanage is located on 2 1/2 acres
and is made up of numerous small African fired mud bricks.
It was once an Educational Centre but is
now closed and in urgent need of refurbishment.
There are still around 12 children living in these properties
being supported by the local community to ensure that they
do not have to go to the streets.
Ethel and her niece Joy are the owners of this orphanage
and are desperate for some assistance.
As you can see Joy is severely mentally and physically challenged.
UCT plans to establish within the orphanage a special school
for other children similar to her.
