Jenny
Tryhane is the Founder
of UCT
and is a Barbadian who trained in the United
Kingdom (UK) as a registered nurse. She has over 25 years
experience within the National Health Service and the private
sector of the UK, where she also owned and operated a private
nursing home.
She has done
voluntary work in India, Nepal, Haiti, Suriname and Africa
and also has been a self employed web designer using her web-designing
skills to help nonprofit organizations in the global internet
community.
Jenny is also an ordained Kids
in Ministry International facilitator, having done extensive
training in Africa in 2011.
She was also the recipient
of the CIBCFirstCaribbean ‘Unsung Heroes Award’
in Barbados in 2009.
Some of Jenny’s key strengths
are: servant leadership; public speaking and communication;
administration; management; and staff training.
Hurricane Dorian Disaster Relief 2019
Hurricane Disaster Relief, in 2019 Jenny led a team to the Bahamas to assist with disaster management following Hurricane Dorian.
The effects of Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas were among the worst experienced for any natural disaster in the country. Hurricane Dorian struck the Abaco Islands as a Category 5 hurricane on September 1, and a day later hit Grand Bahama Island at the same category.
Hurricane Relief - Maria 2017
On September 19th 2017 Hurricane Maria smashed into
the Caribbean island of Dominica
with 160 mph winds, ripping the roof off even the Prime Minister's
residence and causing what he called "mind-boggling" devastation.
United Caribbean Trust, assisted by The
Living Room, immediately re opening the warehouse in Wildey
and began the Dominica with Love grassroots relief effort.
Thanks to Richard and Angus Edghill of Caribbean Consultants
Ltd who have donated the warehouse space, orchestrated by
Phil Edwards from The Living Room.
In the wake of Hurricane
Irma who just weeks ago intensified into a Category 5 hurricane
when it made landfall and tore into the 62-square-mile island of Barbuda
on the night of September 5 – 6 creating a national disaster
of epic proportions.
Once again UCT has stepped up to the plate
and will be shipping out a 40
foot container on Monday Sept 18th the first leaving
Barbados for Antigua.

push with help from volunteers
In partnership with the Living Room Haiti
Development Fund thousands of Solar
Lights were also distributed to these organizations.

Jenny Africa Mission Trip 2015

Jenny Tryhane the founder of UCT, led the Barbados arm of
the Mission team to Africa
joined by Lisa Gardier, the Africa Coordinator .
