Peter
Maiden
Permission requested to use information from http://www.om.org
Peter and Win Maiden were born in Carlisle, in the
north of England, not far from Keswick and the Cumbrian Lake District.
They were raised in evangelical churches -- Peter
the Brethren and Win the Nazarene. Peter and Win met as teenagers
and were married in 1971.
In the 1970's Peter's Bible teaching ministry and
the Maiden family grew with the birth of Becky, Tim, and Dan.
Peter and Win joined Operation
Mobilisation (OM) in 1974, taking on the leadership of OM UK.
In 1985, George Verwer invited Peter to join him as his Associate
International Coordinator.
What interests outside of OM do you have?
Complementing his OM role, Peter serves as an elder in his local
church, is Co-chairman of the International Christian College in
Glasgow, and Chairman of the Keswick Convention. Along with this
he keeps busy with an intensive Bible teaching ministry throughout
Britain and in many other countries of the world. Peter is a voracious
reader. He has also been an avid long-distance runner until recent
knee damage limited him. He often runs in the 'fells' (hills) of
the Lake District.
Win delights in her three grandchildren and is known
for her ministry of hospitality and service. She gravitates to Keswick
and always enjoys a walk with Peter in the Borrowdale Valley, of
course with a stop at their favourite coffee shop!
