"The Emerging Global Leaders
of Barbados or as we like to call it EGLB is an organization
seeking to give young people a voice. Positive peers pressure
and service are two key objectives." said Chrita Soleyn
at the recent launch, she continued... |
"A very smart gentleman who
also happens to be my personal motivator and the EGLB fascinator
Mr. Jeffery Broomes once told me the key to bring a leader is
the willingness to serve and knowing this EGLB intends to be
an organization to serve." |

We believe young people can
creatively shape a better tomorrow as stated in our motto
“empowering today’s youth to creatively
shape a better tomorrow”

Some people try to class student
who join organizations or think you must have a certain mannerism
to be a leader I stand here as testimony of how false that theory
is all you need to be is a young person with a passion and who
is willing to make a difference. If we think about it we are
already leaders of our lives, in our community, in school and
even within our family. |
|
I am now inviting all young people
between the age of 13 and 21 to stand and reach for the hand
of another young person, you could be holding the hand of the
future Prime Minister and future leaders. |
|
|
Please repeat after me now
I will lead and not follow
I will create and not destroy
I will believe and not doubt
I am a force for good
I am a force for God
I am a leader |
Today we will defy the odds and set a new standard.
Young people let us rise to the occasion and step up, don’t
underestimate yourself because now we are the voice, to the adults
I assure you this will not be the last time you hear of us!
UNICEF Representative Mr. Tom Olsen stated,
“National governments need to recognize the importance of
the opinion and voices of youth if they intend to move forward with
their development agendas, as does the UN.”
