Ambassadors Initiative - Combermere School March 2009
Adisa “AJA” Andwele,
the founder and national director of the Peace Ambassadors
Initiative, which marked its three year anniversary this year
was at Combermere Secondary School recently for the swearing
in of the new Peace Ambassadors.
Recently Senator
Sir Roy Trotman, General Secretary of the Barbados Workers’
Union (BWU) highlighting the good work AJA had done in schools
with this venture. Sir Roy suggested that workplaces across
Barbados would do well to set up similar programs to minimise
discord among workers and encourage peace.

Council, Co Founder of Emerging
Global Leaders of Barbados, UNICEF Youth Advocate and
President of the Peace Ambassadors Association at Combermere
addressed the assemble and introduced Jenny Tryhane, founder
of United Caribbean Trust (UCT) who had been invited at the
conclusion of the 'Water for Life' project that had been initiated
as a pilot project throughout the school.

For Haiti program that had been started in Bon Repos and Jacmel.
Jenny, having just returned from
a seven week Mission Trip to Haiti, gave a five minute multi
media presentation explaining the work in Haiti and pledging
that the money would purchase BioSand Water Filters for a variety
of schools from as far north as Gonaive and St. Marc to as far
south as Jacmel and as far west as Les Cayes.
