Sapp Salte
|
Rev. Marcia Sapp Salter, a preacher, psalmist
and writer, is a native of Morristown, New Jersey, U.S.A. A locally
well-known singer in the Newark, NJ area, Rev. Salter was busy doing
gospel recordings with renowned gospel artists such as The New Jersey
Mass Choir and Tramaine Hawkins when she answered her call to the
preaching ministry in November 1992. |
Since then, she has become an internationally sought after
revivalist, conference speaker and facilitator. |
|
|
After undergraduate studies at American University in Washington
D.C. and formal Biblical training at Philadelphia College of Bible,
in 1997, Rev. Salter began international mission work, and co-founded
a church in Barbados, where she lived for the next three years. |
During that time, she was ordained by Bishop Donald J.
Hilliard, pastor of The Cathedral, Second Baptist Church in Perth
Amboy, New Jersey, U.S.A. When she left that ministry in October 2000,
she was affectionately called “Pastor” by the Caribbean
congregation. |
|
After moving back to the U.S., Rev. Salter performed in the 2001-2002
“Touch the World” and “Movin’ On” European
tours with the Harlem Gospel Singers, and added one more girl to her family
of five. Rev. Salter now lives in Coral Springs, Florida, where she works
as a commodities broker.
