House of Freedom
House of Freedom, a faith -based organization, is
committed to serving God and empowering men and women, boys and
girls to reach their God-given potential.
To bring people to Jesus Christ and into membership
in His family, develop them to Christ-like maturity and equip them
for their ministry in the church, in the society and life mission
in the world, in order to magnify God’s name.
Birthed in the bosom of its leaders, Pastor Ferdinand
Nicholls and his wife Julia as far back as the late 1980’s,
has been its vision to bring humanitarian help and much needed assistance
to persons that have been disenfranchised.
House of Freedom comes under the covering of J.F.J
International Ministries which is a non-profit organization registered
under the Charities Act with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs in
Barbados. It has been established for the purpose of meeting the
needs of today’s men and women spiritually, mentally, emotionally,
socially and financially.
Like most organizations of the 1980’s J.F.J
International Ministries has gone through pertinent changes and
whilst not moving away from the main concepts it envisioned has
prepared itself to be in a position to implement key aspect of its
Vision at this time.
Being located in the Warrens area, the Ministry
has always seen the need to become more community oriented and to
use its resources to help address socio-economic problems and to
empower persons in the communities that lie in the surrounding areas.
As it sought to develop its outreach program several opportunities
have presented themselves to this body. Its leadership and friends
of the Ministry instinctively seized the opportunity to do some
exploration regarding the feasibility of the opportunities that
were there before them.
After visits to the Friendship area and some informal
meetings with key Community leaders the newly formed ‘House
of Freedom’ has conceptualized the Friendship Community Impact.(FCI)
FCI is a social service program under the umbrella
of House of Freedom. The ultimate goal is to build on and improve
the general spiritual and physical well-being of the Friendship
community and beyond.
House of Freedom recognizes the ethnic diversity
and unique cultural identities of the Friendship community, their
strengths and the need to be self-sufficient.
The mission of the FCI program is to research, identify,
provide and enhance the general well-being of residents and the
environment of the Friendship area, improving on the already existing
sporting facility and introducing numerous community based programs
for all ages.
