The land located to the side of the Mission House belongs to Mama Yol's brother and the orphanage grows banana trees on the unused land.

This land is ideal to cultivate, run catchment water irrigation and establish a kitchen garden, small pig farm and a chicken run.

This would enable to orphanage to be self sufficient in their food requirements.

School gardens can be a powerful tool to improve the quality of nutrition and education of children in rural and urban areas in developing countries, if they are integrated with national agricultural, nutrition and education programmes
