MALAWI
Malawi
is one of the smallest countries in South Central Africa. It is formerly
called Nyasaland. It is bordered by Tanzania, Moxambique and Zambia. It
is 365 miles long and 52 miles wide and has a population of 10 1/2 million.
Its capital city is Lilongwe and its largest city is Blantyre in the south.
In Malawi, there are thousands of orphans abandoned destitute children.
They are victims of family disintegration which is a result of AIDS and
other communicable diseases. Also many adults are destitute and sick.
For them 'HOPE' is an empty word. Among these are our Church of God Brethren.
The
Barbados New Testament Church of God has visited Malawi three times and
is planning another trip this year.
