We are asking for assistance in our clothing programme
- for babies to children of 12 years. Many children run around in
underwear, and sometimes, in nothing at all. Many children are smaller
in size (than in our culture) due to malnutrition.
If your church or ministry would like to
send clothing to Suriname you are welcome to follow the simple instructions
below:
Tips for packing clothing:
• Please send used clothing in good condition
- no stains, holes, or broken zips.
• It is also a good idea to spray used shoes with Lysol anti-bacterial
spray.
• Please take shop labels off new clothing, so that Customs
would not charge duty because the item is new.
• Pack clothing in a plastic bag in case the carton gets wet
on the journey.
• If you pack a bar of soap in the middle of the carton of
clothes, then the clothes will have a nice smell when it is opened
in Suriname. The soap can also be used as a donation.
