Refuel 2005 Testimonies
Below
are some testimonies from the young adults that visited Refuel in Trinidad
earlier this year. Here we have a practical demonstration of a United
Caribbean.
A testimony from Barbados..."Refuel was the camp
of the year as far as I am concerned. It was awesome in more ways than
one" “Refuel! Refuel! What can I say? It was the most incredible
experience I ever had." . "I can truly say I came back fired-up
and refueled". A voice from Antigua... “This year God has done
somethings in my life bringing me closer to him than before, and healing
my hurts" Words of wisdom from Trinidad..."So for all those
out there, realize that it's not just the grown-ups talking about Christ,
so are the youths. We are the ones to make a difference. 'Try it you will
like it."
Kelly-Ann Bowen (Barbados)
“Refuel was the camp of the year as far as I am
concerned. It was awesome in more ways than one. I was personally blessed
by God through the speakers that He brought at that time. Prophecies on
my life were confirmed and I know that they will come to pass. The way
I viewed myself was changed because how I saw myself and how God saw me
were two different things. Besides that it was such a blessing to see
so many young people from the region together in one place with one common
goal; to lift up the name of the Lord Jesus. I am definitely looking forward
to Refuel 2006; don’t miss it.”
Tesilka Francis (Antigua)
“This year God has done somethings in my life bringing
me closer to him than before, and healing my hurts. Refuel 2005 was the
place God did this and my heart's desire is to be totally sold out to
him. He’s taught me to be more patient and to wait on him and he
will give me those things which are in store for me. My encouragement
to anyone is Trust in God and he will bring what he says to past. God
Richly Bless.”
Victoria Jack (Barbados)
“Well first of all I want to say thanks to you Lisa for planning
it in the first place. When I heard about refuel honestly the only reason
I wanted to go was because it would get me away from home for a while.
Then when I got to Trinidad and I got to meet the other youth it was so
amazing, I mean it just change the way I felt about the whole trip.
Then the best part came, God just moved miraculously in my life and in
the lives of the other young people. It was so awesome I can’t wait
until Refuel 2006.”
Jermaine Jack (Barbados)
“Refuel! Refuel! What can I say? It was the most
incredible experience I ever had. It was also the most mind blowing, understood
thing I had ever done, it was just amazing. We had so much Food (spiritually)
in one week; I am still getting revelation. The ministries were great
they were plain, so plain everyone could understand. Because of Refuel
my life will never be the same. It was just awesome; it was just you and
God and then His wonderful people. There was no worldly music, no swearing
or anything to distract you or contaminate what God was doing. We were
just filled with pure Food, Refuel was the best.”
Jonathan Allen (St. Maarten)
“My experience at the Refuel camp was wonderful.
It was fun for me to meet new people and see other cultures and also it
gave me a spiritual boost. The speakers were brilliant and they came down
to our level as they educated us on their experiences.
So I would invite anyone who wants to grow spiritually and meet new people
to come next year and be blessed.”
Trudi Brathwaite (Barbados)
“Refuel was the best. Although I was a bit nervous at first as soon
as I got there I had a sense of calmness. When everything had officially
started, it was awesome. God spoke to people in many different ways and
I believe everyone was changed and moved to a higher level. For me, I
sensed God's presence in my life stronger than ever and when I arrived
back home in Barbados, I can truly say I came back fired-up and refueled.
Members of my church saw the difference and I'm sure each and everyone
who attended refuel can say the same for themselves. It was a great experience
with God and great fellowship with others from around the world.”
Chinaka Pierre (Trinidad)
“I grew up in a regular Roman Catholic home, and I always thought
that I loved the Lord and was on the straight path. I did not offend Him
and I refrained from doing wrong. I joined my church choir when I was
at the age of seven, so you could say I was church based. Back then if
you asked me anything about the traditions of the church I could have
told you. It took me a while to figure out some traditions are made to
be broken. I realized that even the oldest traditions of the church have
nothing to do with the church. But even though that was understood, there
were still many obstacles for me to overcome. I was - like many - a victim
of peer pressure. It was learnt that it wasn't 'cool' to boast about God,
but it was 'cool' to boast about your boyfriends. It wasn't 'cool' to
correct people when they were blaspheming or making serious mistakes about
religion, but it was 'cool' to allow people to curse and offend each other.
I adhered to these rules because at the time I wanted to be 'cool'. So
most of my life, I thought I was 'cool' not knowing that this physical
life would soon pass and I would never know when so I need to change for
me to able to not only be on God's side but to experience the best in
life. I was then introduced to 'Refuel 2005' by my dad the day before
the actual retreat. I made my choice to go because I was always up for
change and what harm can it do. When I went to my first session the first
thing that struck me was the way how these youths were able to praise
God without thinking of what the other person was thinking of them. They
were all in it for God. I watched as they were able to let themselves
go and just let God take control. I asked myself “Why can't I do
it?” I'm no different. And I was able to let myself go and it felt
so good knowing that I had nothing to worry about because I let God in
and he was in total control of my life. Refuel really helped me to understand
myself, my religion and my God. It also introduced me to the most wonderful
and happy people I have ever met. I was able to make friendships, that
I am sure, will last a long time. So I was so happy when Lisa the founder
of Refuel to ask me to testify about my experience, because I am always
so happy to talk about how God has made a difference in my life. So for
all those out there, realize that it's not just the grown-ups talking
about Christ, so are the youths. We are the ones to make a difference.
'Try it you will like it.'”
