JOURNAL - Holy Spirit Encounter

9.6.97

“For though we live in the world,
we do not rage war
as the world does.
The weapons we fight with
are not the weapons
of the world.
On the contrary,
they have divine power
to demolish strongholds.” (2 Cor. 10:3,4 NIV)

The battle is in the Spiritual Realm!
This is where the battle
is fought and won!
We use weapons of praise and worship,
Proclamation of the written Word of God,
and our authority in Jesus Christ.

Christians should war in the Spirit,
and not in the flesh!
Instead of quarrelling, arguing
and bickering,
we should love each other.
Love is a powerful weapon.
Love can touch the hardest of hearts.
Love changes lives.
There is so much power in love
that Satan works overtime
to create division, disunity,
and strife.

We need to use
God-ordained weapons
to win this Spiritual Battle!
“Put on the full armour of God
so that you can take your stand
against the devil’s schemes.
For our struggle is not against
flesh and blood,
but against rulers,
against the authorities,
against the powers of this dark world
and against the spiritual forces of evil
in the heavenly realms.” (Eph. 6:11,12 NIV)

Let us fight the Devil,
and love each other!
Let us recognise WHO
our adversary really is!
Let us learn to deal
with our problems
at the source of evil!
Many of the problems
in the world today are demonic –
abortion, rape, sexual abuse,
drugs and alcohol addictions,
homosexuality and suicide.
We spend billions of dollars
to build institutions and
to fund programmes
to treat the symptoms
and results of these problems.
We need to deal with
the spiritual aspect.
Too often, man spends his time
attempting to clean up Satan’s mess!

We need to take authority!
We need to open our eyes
to the very real existence
of an Unseen Realm!
We can win this battle.
Jesus won the ultimate victory!
We can conquer in our skirmishes.

Lord, I pray today
that many Christians
would wake up to the fact
that we are in a Spiritual Battle!
I pray that they would open
their eyes to SEE!
I pray that they would come into
a fuller understanding of
their God-given authority
over Satan and his plans!
I pray for discernment
in the Spiritual Realm!

Lord,
You are our banner!
We lift You up
as our General
in this War!
Hallelujah!

I hear the sound of the trumpet
on the battle field.
The Lord is calling.
“Wake up, O Christians.
Hear the voice of Your Lord.
Arise! Take charge!
There is a battle to be fought
and won!”

One day,
Jesus took the disciples,
Peter, James and John
up the mountain
with Him.
“There he was transfigured
before them.
His face shone like the sun,
and his clothes became
as white as the light.” (Matt. 17:2 NIV)
The disciples were given
a glimpse of Jesus
in His full glory.

Then, Moses and Elijah appeared,
and spoke with Jesus.
Peter offered to build
three shelters or tabernacles
for them,
to mark this awesome occasion.

We, too,
come into “tabernacle experiences”…
These are special times
when God’s Glory is manifested.
We can feel the awesome Presence
of God.
Our hearts are open to Him…
He fills us with His Peace
and His Joy.
Our hearts swell…
as if they would burst!
New wine in new wineskins!
Hallelujah!

It is such a special place
… to be held in the cup
of God’s Hand!
… to have a private audience
with Him!
How I long to dwell
in this place
every moment of every day!
How I wish it would never end!
This special touch of Heaven
on earth!

Lord…
come and visit us
again and again,
and again…
Never leave us for one moment.
Bathe us in Your Presence…
Let us have innumerable encounters
with You…
Let us revel in the Glory
of You!

A Holy Spirit encounter.
Tonight, I’ve had
a wonderful visit
with You!
Come again, Holy Spirit!
Welcome!
