APPLICATIONS:
Mulberry is an excellent wild life forage and as documented by FAO agronomist
Dr. Manuel Sanchez, D’arbe D’or is a recommended addition
to ruminant, livestock and poultry feeds, replacing grain-based concentrates
in lactating cows for excellent yields.
Dr. Sanchez reports better egg yolk colour and increased egg size and
production when mulberry is utilised. 70 -90 % of the plant is digestible
for herbivores and monogastrics and mulberry has excellent palatability,
and an essentially good (15-28%) amino acid profile with high mineral
content. There have been no anti-nutritional factors nor toxic compounds
identified .
